You were created to be like Jesus! How does that make you feel?

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6 NKJV

God’s greatest command is to love Him with all of our hearts with all of our souls and with all of our strength. God’s second greatest command is to love our neighbor as ourselves. These two commandments reveal God’s character to us!

I have heard people say when we teach the Lord is a God of love we are deceiving people. They say we are telling people what they want to hear. They say we are teaching part of the truth but not the complete Word of God.

We must study, teach and obey the full counsel of God, but to minimize God’s great love for us is a mistake. The basis of our relationship with Jesus is God’s great love for us!

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:7-11 NKJV

God is Holy. He requires Holiness from us. God hates sin. He has and will pour out His wrath on the ungodly. He does it to bring us back into His will. What is God’s will?

Almighty God wants us to love Him with all of our hearts, with all of our souls and with all of our strength. He wants us to love our neighbors as much as He does!

Maybe you have strayed ever so slightly from the truth. Maybe with the best of intentions you have turned your relationship with Jesus into a religion. Return to your first love. God is motivated by love. He wants everything we do to be motivated by love!

When I set my heart to seek the Lord I see Him high and lifted up above creation. In the shadow of His holiness I see the darkness of my sinful nature. My soul is filled with sorrow and shame. And then God’s love flows over me like a river of mercy and grace!

God’s perfect love casts out fear of judgment when we trust Him to have His way with us. God is not waiting to condemn you or punish you. Jesus is waiting for you to turn to Him in love. The Lord is preparing you to receive all that He desires to give you!

Jesus is not through with you. He began a great work in you. You were created to be like Jesus. The Great Potter will continue to mold you and shape until there is no shadow between you and your savior!

You will be blessed, and God will be glorified when you surrender to the work He wants to accomplish in you and through you. Trust Jesus to form His life in you. Bask in the Sonlight of God’s love today and every day!

Joyfor2day daily devotional goes out over the internet to thousands of people all over the world five days a week

Jesus can use you to shake the foundations of the prison and set people free!

Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out that very hour. Acts 16:16-18 NKJV

The slave girl was speaking the truth. She was possessed by an evil spirit. The evil spirit was drawing people away from Christ!

This attack came as God’s servants went to prayer. The enemy of our souls attacks when we step out in faith. Satan seeks to distract us. He wants us to focus our attention on things other than Jesus.

The devil perverts the truth. He uses it against us. No one can serve two masters. This girl was speaking the truth about Paul and his companions while practicing witchcraft. When people claim to speak for God we must consider how they live.

The girl followed the disciples for several days before they cast the demon out of her. It is important for us to wait on the Lord before stepping out in faith. The bible tells us Paul was greatly annoyed by this girl. Paul was not fearful. The Lord was with Him!

Paul and Silas were put in jail. The owners of the slave girl were angry at the loss of income when the demon was cast out of her. While Paul and Silas were in jail they shared the gospel with the jailer. His entire household was saved.

God uses Satan’s attacks for His glory and our salvation!

Satan is a real being. He takes people captive to do his will. There really are demons who seek to destroy God’s people and bring destruction to our world.

We have nothing to fear from the devil or his demons when we live according to God’s will. We have nothing to fear from anyone or anything when we step out in faith to serve Jesus!

Jesus wants us to fear Him and Him alone. He wants us to know His power and authority are unequaled in all of creation.

God wants you share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the people in your life. Jesus wants you to walk in great boldness because He is with you everywhere you go!

Jesus can use you to shake the foundations of the prison and set people free!
