Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, “Let us break their bonds in pieces and cast away their cords from us.” Psalm 2:1-3 NKJV
Are the nations raging against God today? Are they plotting a vain thing? Do the kings of this world set themselves against the Lord and His anointed? Would our leaders really cast off the bonds that tie us to God? The answer is a resounding Yes! Satan incited Adam and Eve to disobey God in the Garden of Eden. Spiritual hosts of wickedness and religious leaders opposed Jesus when He walked the earth. The world system feeds our flesh and draws our attention away from God today. A comedian became famous with the line, “The devil made me do it.” The devil is not responsible for our poor choices, we are. Mankind has always rebelled against God’s authority. We are rebelling against the Lord’s authority today! There are people all over the world willing to live and die for false gods. Some are fanatical in their devotion to evil spirits masquerading as angels of light. God gave us the freedom to choose. That freedom applies to making good decisions as much as it does to making poor choices. We live in a world that blurs the lines between good and evil. Many people believe what is good for others may not be good for them. The media teaches us that morality is subjective. It is not. The world system respects faith in anyone or anything. Salvation is found only in Jesus Christ! The world values many forms of self-improvement. It does not value relationship with Jesus. If we had the ability to change our sinful nature on our own it would have happened a long time ago! “I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, You are My Son, Today I have begotten you. Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.” Psalm 2:7-9 NKJV God chose David to rule over His children for a time. Jesus will rule over the nations forever. His rule will be one of justice and mercy. People who oppose Jesus will be as non-existent things. The devil will have no power to harm or deceive us in eternity! God has given you the freedom to choose where and with whom you spend eternity. Choose to live for Jesus Christ today. Choose to live with Him in eternity! Do not oppose the Lord’s authority. Trust the Word of God. It is the truth you need to live for Jesus today and with Jesus in eternity! www.joyfor2day.com www.facebook.com/Joyfor2dayDailyDevotional https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
