Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21 NKJV
The bible was written as encouragement, an exhortation and instruction manual for right living so God can bless us. God reveals Himself to us through His written Word. He reveals His character. God has a personality. He has emotions. There are things the Lord likes and things He does not like. God is not telling us money is bad. If the Lord has blessed you financially don’t feel guilty or less spiritual. Be blessed and thankful. If you are struggling financially rejoice. One day you will walk upon streets of Gold. We are eternal beings. We will outlive our current financial status. God does not want us to be disappointed. If we set our hearts upon the treasure of this world we will be disappointed. Money never satisfies our real needs and desires. It is temporal. You are eternal. The things this world calls treasure have a way of vanishing into thin air. Even if you managed to build up a fortune and hold onto it you cannot take it with you when you leave planet earth! You can send your treasure on ahead of you today. You can use your earthly treasure for eternal purposes. Ask God to show you how to use your money in ways that will glorify Him and bless people in eternal ways. Jesus loves you regardless of how much money you have. Jesus does not want you to be disappointed by meaningless and temporary things that glitter. The Lord wants to bless you with eternal and incorruptible blessings! Jesus wants you to set your heart upon that which never fails or disappoints and always satisfies, His great love for you! http://www.joyfor2day.com https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
