He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord. Proverbs 18:22 NKJV
I am not a Pastor Priest or Theologian. I just serve God for His glory and honor with what I have. I have a computer and a bible. I have history with God.
I can share with other people the mercy and grace of God because I have experienced His grace and mercy. I can share with other people the truth that God is faithful because he has always been faithful in my life.
I can share what it is like to walk in the unmerited favor of God because I have walked in the favor of God and have done nothing to deserve it. I can tell other people God will never disappoint people who trust Him today!
In 1975 I met a beautiful girl. She was the kindest person I ever met.
Once we saw an elderly man digging in a dumpster for food. She got out of my van walked over and offered him something to eat. He was so touched he could hardly speak. He cried tears of joy. She pursued me and we fell in love (lol that is how I remember it).
We were teenagers and did not know the Lord. I bought her a ring and made one for myself out of decorative wire. We stood before God and asked Him to join us together in marriage. I pronounced us man and wife in His presence.
We were young and in love. The relationship ended four years later. I was more interested in living a lustful lifestyle than enjoying a relationship with a beautiful girl who was devoted to me.
God brought her back into my life. She had become a Christian. God used her to bring me to faith in Jesus. The Lord used her to teach me what true love is. Jesus used her to show me how faithful and true He is even when I am unfaithful and untrue!
God honored our little ceremony and the commitment we made in His presence even though I did not.
I met my wife in summer school when she asked if the seat next to me was taken and sat down. It was a divine appointment. Jesus appointed us to be joined together in Him. Jesus called us to serve Him in love.
If you have a husband or a wife you have a good thing that is a gift from God. God blessed you. You have received His unmerited favor. God wants you to cherish and honor your spouse today. By honoring him or her above yourself you honor God.
If you are not married do not become bitter or hard hearted. You can honor the Lord in all your relationships. Be thankful for the relationships God has blessed you with!
