Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord; Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. Psalm 130 NKJV
The psalmist waits for the redemption of the Lord. He professes his hope in prayer. He exhorts Israel to put their hope in God. Have you ever cried out to God from the depths of your soul? Have you ever been in such despair your only hope was the Lord answering your cry for help? I have been in such desperation only God could deliver me. I spent sleepless days and nights in such despair I became ill. It was when my soul cried out for help that I met Jesus! Is God a philosophy that comforts us as we live out our lives on planet earth? There is a right and wrong answer to this question. It is a question you must answer for yourself. For me that question was answered when I cried out to God. Jesus revealed Himself to me when I needed Him. God came to me when I had nowhere else to turn. I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope more than those who watch for the morning-Yes, more than those who watch for the morning. Vs 5-6 The psalmist was a godly man. He was chosen by God to write this chapter of the book of Psalms. He tells us how desperately he needed the Lord. The closer I walk with God the more I realize my need for Him. Jesus never intended for us to outgrow Him. As we mature in the faith we should become ever more aware of our need for God’s grace and mercy! I watched a movie about a narcissistic criminal. It made me realize how self-absorbed I become when I am not walking closely with Jesus. It was like seeing myself in a mirror for the first time. Jesus spoke to me. He said; “I love you. Be blessed!” God does not love us because we are good. He loves us because He is good! If you do not have a relationship with Jesus don’t wait until your world is rocked to meet Him. Cry out to the Lord today. Invite Jesus into your life. He will reveal Himself to you! You can cry out to God today. Ask Him to hear your prayer. Ask Jesus to reveal the truth you need to trust Him. Ask Jesus to make all things new regardless of what you have done or how you have lived. Ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior today! If you do know the Lord never forget how much you needed Jesus! If you are burdened by trials and tribulations or sins failures and mistakes listen up. God has something to say to you today. Jesus says; “I love you. Be blessed!” www.joyfor2day.com https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
