Blessed is the man who endures temptation: for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. James 1:12 NKJV
God wants us to live according to His perfect will. What is God’s will? He wants us to receive His precious love with joy and thanksgiving. Jesus wants us to love and adore God enough to offer the sacrifice of praise. Jesus wants us to worship Him with our lives!
God created us to live in a loving relationship with Jesus. He wants us to express our love for Him by resisting the temptations of sin!
When God speaks to us we should obey His commands without question. He speaks to us through the scriptures. We live in a world that draws us away from obedience to the Word of God. We must learn to trust Jesus with the pride of life and the lust of our eyes!
God tells us to refrain from sexual immorality. We see half naked people everywhere. He tells us to be content with what we have. The media tempts us with trinkets and gadgets. God wants us to trust Him. Bold individualism is touted as the American way.
It is the marriage relationship that most closely resembles our relationship with God. The Lord wants us to enjoy intimate relations with our wives and husbands. He calls us to be set apart for Him. Jesus wants us to be set apart for our spouses as well.
If we go around giving ourselves to idols the intimacy God desires with us is soiled. If we give ourselves to people other than our mates love intimacy and joy can be replaced by sorrow grief and pain.
If you are single wait on God to bring that special person into your life. Flee from immorality so you can offer something you have never given to another. If you are married trust God with your union.
God knows are you tempted in many ways. He knows your thoughts and deeds. He knows what you need. Trust the Lord to meet your needs as you work out your salvation with fear and trembling!
You will struggle. We all do. If you set your heart and affection on Jesus He will deliver you from sin. The Spirit of God will make a way for you to endure temptation!
God knows if you love Him. He knows if you despise Him. If you trust Jesus you will receive the crown of life promised to people who love and adore Jesus. You can offer a sacrifice of praise and worship by casting your crown at the feet of your Savior!
Trust Jesus enough to obey Him when your feelings and emotions draw you in a direction that is contrary to His will. Trust Jesus even when you do not know where He is leading. The Lord will never mislead you.
You can always trust Jesus because He is always trustworthy!
