Where are you in your relationship with Jesus?

Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” Genesis 3:9 NKJV

When Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the forbidden tree their eyes were opened. They knew they were naked. They heard God walking in the garden in the cool of the day. Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord.

God did not call out to Adam because He did not know where he was. Nothing we say or do is ever hidden from God. The Lord knew exactly where Adam and Eve were. God knew exactly what they had done.

God called out to Adam because He wanted him to know they had become separated from the Lord. He wanted Adam to consider where he was in his relationship with God.

God created Adam and Eve in His image and likeness. He created them to live in intimacy with Him. God created Adam and Eve to be loved by Him. They were hiding from the God who blessed them. They were hiding from the God who walked in the cool of the day with them.

Jesus loves us. Jesus wants us to live in intimate relationship with Him. Jesus would ask us the same question He asked Adam those many years ago. Jesus would ask, “Where are you?” Jesus wants us to consider where we are in our relationship with Him today!

If we have fallen into a pattern of sin in Jesus wants us to turn back to Him. He is willing to receive us back into His arms of love.

If the worries and busyness of life have crowded out our desire to spend time with the Lord Jesus wants us to return to Him. Jesus is never too busy or distracted to receive us with joy and thanksgiving.

If your love for Jesus has grown cold and stale He wants to renew the joy of your salvation. Jesus is waiting for you to call out to Him. He will answer you with the love and forgiveness only your loving Heavenly Father can give you!

The world system, the devil and our sinful flesh war against our souls. We all sin and take our eyes off the prize. We can all get distracted by worries and weariness!

If you have never surrendered to Jesus today is the day of your salvation. Call out to the God who created you so He can lavish His great love upon you. Ask Him to forgive you of every sin you have every committed. Ask Him to make all things new in your life. Ask Jesus to come into your life and be your Savior today!

Call out to Jesus and say, “Here I am Lord! He will answer with love and forgiveness. He will bless you. He will walk with you as you live in Him and for Him!

I do not know where you are in your relationship with Jesus today. I do know where the Lord is. Jesus loves you! Jesus wants to spend time with you! Jesus wants you to spend eternity with Him in eternal bliss! Incline your heart to lover of your soul today!

Joyfor2day daily devotional goes out over the internet to thousands of people all over the world five days a week

Jesus can use you to shake the foundations of the prison and set people free!

Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out that very hour. Acts 16:16-18 NKJV

The slave girl was speaking the truth. She was possessed by an evil spirit. The evil spirit was drawing people away from Christ!

This attack came as God’s servants went to prayer. The enemy of our souls attacks when we step out in faith. Satan seeks to distract us. He wants us to focus our attention on things other than Jesus.

The devil perverts the truth. He uses it against us. No one can serve two masters. This girl was speaking the truth about Paul and his companions while practicing witchcraft. When people claim to speak for God we must consider how they live.

The girl followed the disciples for several days before they cast the demon out of her. It is important for us to wait on the Lord before stepping out in faith. The bible tells us Paul was greatly annoyed by this girl. Paul was not fearful. The Lord was with Him!

Paul and Silas were put in jail. The owners of the slave girl were angry at the loss of income when the demon was cast out of her. While Paul and Silas were in jail they shared the gospel with the jailer. His entire household was saved.

God uses Satan’s attacks for His glory and our salvation!

Satan is a real being. He takes people captive to do his will. There really are demons who seek to destroy God’s people and bring destruction to our world.

We have nothing to fear from the devil or his demons when we live according to God’s will. We have nothing to fear from anyone or anything when we step out in faith to serve Jesus!

Jesus wants us to fear Him and Him alone. He wants us to know His power and authority are unequaled in all of creation.

God wants you share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the people in your life. Jesus wants you to walk in great boldness because He is with you everywhere you go!

Jesus can use you to shake the foundations of the prison and set people free!
