Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understanding all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love it profits me nothing. Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 1 Corinthians 13:1-8 NKJV Love is the greatest of God’s gifts to us. God’s love for you surpasses all understanding. God is love. We were created in His image and likeness. The capacity to love is in our DNA. When we demonstrate our love for each other we fulfill our calling as a Royal Priesthood and Ambassadors for Christ. When we demonstrate our love for each other we please God. It is when we demonstrate our love for each other that we are the most like God! I was persecuted for my faith when I worked in a prison. A homosexual client started creating problems for the staff. I commented that we should treat him like all of the other clients. I was accused of discriminating against him because of my faith in Christ. People who support the homosexual agenda often accuse us of being homophobic. It is a way of marginalizing us branding us as fanatics and putting us on the defensive. Some people actually assume that because we believe the bible we hate homosexual people. The bible calls homosexuality a sin. So is discriminating, gossiping, back biting and taking on a critical spirit. Jesus wants us to hate sin as much as he does. The Lord wants us to love sinners as much as he does. He wants us to love each other despite our differences and disagreements! How can we hate sin and lover sinners? We can’t. We live in a fallen world in fallen bodies. We can put on the mind of Christ so we can imitate the Lord. We can be filled with the Spirit of God so we can obey His commands! Put on the mind of Christ today. Live by faith so you can live for Jesus. Be filled with the Spirit of God. Fulfill your calling as a Royal Priest and an Ambassador for Christ! Shine the light of God’s love into a world that grows darker and darker day by day! http://www.joyfor2day.com https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
