When the season of trial and testing has ended God will rejoice over you with singing!

The Lord is in His holy temple, The Lord’s throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men. Psalm 11:4 NKJV

God’s eyelids test the sons of men. What does that mean?

God does not have eyes. He does not have eyelids. Does He ever stop searching our hearts? Does He ever stop watching over us and protecting us? Are there things that are hidden from God’s sight?

God never stop searching our hearts. He never stops watching over us. Nothing is ever hidden from the Lord’s sight. Jesus never stops protecting us.

God will allow us to feel like He is not watching over us. We will experience seasons when we feel like He is not protecting us. There will be times when we seek the Lord and feel like He is far from us. We may even think God does not know what we are doing.

When the Lord ushered me into His Kingdom I could not doubt Him. He spoke to me in dreams, through His Word, other people and the circumstances of life. I told people God was alive. It was an amazing season of growing in the Lord.

The Lord is testing us with His eyelids. We are in a season of trial and hardship. My wife suffers from one illness after another. Our sons walked away from the freedom of relationship with Jesus. They surrendered to sin. They are held captive by its grip.

Where is the Lord? He is in His holy temple. His throne is established in Heaven. He reigns supreme over creation. Jesus sees all things. He knows all things.

God searches hearts and minds looking for men and women who believe His Word. He tests people with His eyelids looking for men women and children who choose to walk by faith in Jesus!

Ask Jesus to give you the faith to live for Him today. When the season of testing has ended the Lord will rejoice over you with singing!

I wrote these words four years ago. Seasons of trial and adversity have come and gone. We frolicked in the Son shine of restoration when our prodigal returned. Our hearts sang with the joy of the Lord when our son received and returned our love and adoration!

The circumstances of life do not change God’s character increase His blessings or detract from His loving nature!

The Lord is in His holy temple when the rains fall. He is also there when the Son shines. God’s throne is in heaven regardless of what takes place on planet earth. Jesus sees all things. He knows all things. His eye lids test the sons of men for our good and His glory!

Jesus won the victory over sin and death so that you can be victorious over them!

Joyfor2day daily devotional goes out over the internet to thousands of people all over the world five days a week

Jesus can use you to shake the foundations of the prison and set people free!

Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out that very hour. Acts 16:16-18 NKJV

The slave girl was speaking the truth. She was possessed by an evil spirit. The evil spirit was drawing people away from Christ!

This attack came as God’s servants went to prayer. The enemy of our souls attacks when we step out in faith. Satan seeks to distract us. He wants us to focus our attention on things other than Jesus.

The devil perverts the truth. He uses it against us. No one can serve two masters. This girl was speaking the truth about Paul and his companions while practicing witchcraft. When people claim to speak for God we must consider how they live.

The girl followed the disciples for several days before they cast the demon out of her. It is important for us to wait on the Lord before stepping out in faith. The bible tells us Paul was greatly annoyed by this girl. Paul was not fearful. The Lord was with Him!

Paul and Silas were put in jail. The owners of the slave girl were angry at the loss of income when the demon was cast out of her. While Paul and Silas were in jail they shared the gospel with the jailer. His entire household was saved.

God uses Satan’s attacks for His glory and our salvation!

Satan is a real being. He takes people captive to do his will. There really are demons who seek to destroy God’s people and bring destruction to our world.

We have nothing to fear from the devil or his demons when we live according to God’s will. We have nothing to fear from anyone or anything when we step out in faith to serve Jesus!

Jesus wants us to fear Him and Him alone. He wants us to know His power and authority are unequaled in all of creation.

God wants you share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the people in your life. Jesus wants you to walk in great boldness because He is with you everywhere you go!

Jesus can use you to shake the foundations of the prison and set people free!
