Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” And Thomas answered Him, My Lord and my God! John 20:27-28 NKJV
Jesus appeared to His disciples. Thomas was not present. Thomas was told Jesus appeared, he said, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side I will not believe.” Jesus appeared to the disciples again in a room behind a closed door. He stood in their midst and said, “peace to you.” Appearing this way should have been enough for anyone to believe. Jesus took it one step further. He invited Thomas to do exactly what He said was required for Him to believe. Thomas believed and acknowledged Jesus as his Lord and Savior. The Lord knew exactly what it would take for Thomas to believe He was resurrected. To believe He is God. That all the things He said and taught when among them were true. We will always know Him as doubting Thomas. He would never doubt Jesus again. Jesus Christ is the Eternal Son of God. He is the Savior of the World. He is God! Jesus is not afraid to prove His right to rule and reign over creation. He is the author and finisher of our faith. Jesus gives us the faith to believe He is our Lord and Savior! Has Jesus revealed Himself to you? If so pray for people who do not know Him. Ask Jesus to reveal Himself to them. Do you doubt Jesus is God? Do you want to know the truth? Ask the Lord to show you what you need to believe. Jesus is waiting to shower His perfect love upon you! God gave us the gift of free will. We have the freedom to receive salvation today. We have the freedom to live for Jesus today. We also have the freedom to reject His love. We can live outside of His blessing and protection today. Pharaoh the King of Egypt refused to obey the commands of God. The Lord hardened his heart. The religious authorities of Israel refused to believe the Son of God would be born among the meek and humble. Their hearts were hardened with unbelief. If you hear the voice of God today do not harden your heart with doubt and unbelief! Call out to the God who says, “Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” Ask the Lord to give you what you need to believe He is the Lord and Savior of the world! Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29 You are blessed if you believe Jesus is God and trust Him with your life! http://www.joyfor2day.com https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
