The Lord shall fight for you and you shall hold your peace. Exodus 14:14 NKJV
God delivered Israel from 400 years of bondage. The Lord filled the Egyptians with dread. The children of Israel left with all the gold silver and clothing they could carry. God hardened Pharaoh’s heart. The Egyptian army pursued Israel to destroy them. The people were fearful and began to panic. Moses said to them, “Do not be afraid. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today.” I grew up watching war movies with my father. He really enjoyed them. I enjoyed watching them with him. I think we watched every war movie ever made. There is a particular scenario in many different movies that moves me. A group of soldiers is ambushed. The enemy gains the upper hand. The soldiers lose heart. They become fearful. They begin to panic. At this critical time when all seems lost one man stands up and encourages the soldiers to fight. Just the fact that he stands up in the middle of the battle is enough to encourage his comrades. When the children of Israel began to panic Moses stood up and spoke for God. The battle was the Lords. He did all the fighting. Moses was called to speak the words of God to His people. He was called to encourage the people to trust God in the face of certain defeat. Jesus is calling you to stand up today. The battle is the Lord’s. He will do all the fighting. God is calling you to speak to His people. He is calling you to encourage His people. Jesus wants you to set a standard of faith for others to follow! God delivered the children of Israel from certain defeat at the hands of the Egyptians long ago. Jesus can deliver you from certain defeat from the sin that so easily besets you today! God spoke to Moses from a burning bush. He sent Moses to deliver His people from the cruel bondage of the Egyptians. Moses tried to talk his way out of going to Egypt. The Lord asked Moses what he had in his hand. Moses had a staff in His hand. What has the Lord put into your hand? What has God given you to fight for His glory. What unique gifts and talents has God entrusted you with? What can you do to encourage God’s people in their fight of faith? How can you encourage the children of God to trust Him in seasons of trial and turmoil? Do what you can with what you have right where you are for the glory of God. Trust Jesus to do what you cannot do. The battle over sin and death is His. Jesus has already won the war. Prepare yourself for peace in the Promised Land of eternity with Jesus! www.joyfor2day.com https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
