Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. Psalm 90 NKJV
This is the oldest of the Psalms. Moses acknowledged the eternal nature of God, the frailty and sinfulness of mankind and the shortness of life. Moses prayed for God’s grace on His people.
There is a religion that teaches God is everything and everything is God. That is not true. Another teaches the universe is God’s body. That is just as false.
The universe and all it contains, therefore we, exist because God exists! Life cannot exist without Him!
The definition of creation is; the action or process of bringing something into existence. Even the word implies a creator. God took action when He spoke the universe into existence. His process was to speak it into existence instantly!
God has no beginning. He will have no end. How can that be? The concept of a timeless God who has always and will always exist is beyond human comprehension. It is not something we cannot grasp with finite minds.
So, teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom. Vs 12
Our days upon the earth were shortened when sin and death entered the world. Our sinful nature and evil hearts would have unleashed a nightmarish hell on earth if God did not curtail our lifespan.
Through faith in Jesus Christ we have been adopted as sons and daughters of the Most High God. We are no longer children of the devil. We have the freedom to live for God!
Jesus wants us to redeem the time. We do not know how long we will walk upon this earth. God wants us to be good servants while we do. A good servant obeys His master!
And let the beauty of the Lord God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us: Yes, establish the work of our hands. Vs 17
God wants us to wait for Him to establish the work of our hands. The greatest acts of faith require the greatest patience. Waiting is not synonymous with inaction. Waiting is action when we wait on the God who spoke all things into existence!
Wait in faith for Jesus to establish the work of your hands. The fruit of our labor in Jesus is worth waiting for!
