Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, In His holy mountain. Psalm 48 NKJV
This psalm declares the glory, greatness and loving-kindness of God. He is our Lord. We are His beloved! God is worthy of praise. He is all powerful all knowing and ever present throughout His creation. He has no equal. He stands alone above all things. Jerusalem was the place where God met with His people. It was the place where they gathered together to worship and praise the Lord. We have thought, O God, on Your loving-kindness, In the midst of Your temple, According to Your name, O God, So is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness. Let Mount Zion rejoice, Let the daughters of Judah be glad, Because of Your judgments. Vs 9-11 Jerusalem was inhabited by wicked people. God drove them out. God led His people into the land of promise. The Lord gave the people He chose to be His inheritance and namesake a home in land that would become their inheritance. God did this for the children of Israel because He loved and cherished them! The world and spiritual realm are inhabited by ungodly people and evil forces. The battle they wage against us is deliberate and focused. It is intense and severe. Jesus is more powerful than we have yet experienced. He will drive out the enemies of our souls and give us the victory. We are His inheritance. We are His namesake. Jesus loves and cherishes us! When life becomes unbearable and your struggles wear you out turn your thoughts to the loving-kindness of God. If you have surrendered your heart and life to Jesus He is with you. For this is God, Our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even to death. Vs 14 Jesus takes up residence in the heart of His beloved when we bow our will to His. From that moment on into the endlessness of eternity He is our God and we are His people! Jesus is with us when the seas roar and the ground shakes. He is with us when the sun shines and birds sing. God’s praise extends to the ends of the earth. His right hand is full of justice and righteousness. He is your God. You are His beloved! Jesus chooses to love and cherish you. Will you choose to love and obey Him? www.joyfor2day.com www.facebook.com/Joyfor2dayDailyDevotional https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
