How beautiful are your feet in sandals, O prince’s daughter! The curves of your thighs are like jewels, The work of the hands of a skillful workman. Song of Solomon 7:1 NKJV
It was the first day of summer school. I found a place to sit. A girl with long hair walked in. She was beautiful. Our eyes met. I watched her walk across the room. She walked to the seat next to mine and asked, “Is this seat taken?” My wife fell in love the day we met. I did not know how to love. I did not understand how such a beautiful girl could care so deeply for me? I did not know how to express my feelings for her. I did not understand the value of relationship. Five years later our relationship ended. She moved away. Twelve years later we met again. We were married. The Lord intervened. Jesus had His way. The Lord transformed my heart degree by degree. Jesus taught me how to love my wife. The Song of Solomon illustrates God’s passionate love for His people. I am surprised by some of the language. It’s surprising that God calls an adulterous murderer a man after His own heart. It is surprising that He placed a harlot in the lineage of Jesus. Love is the greatest of God’s gifts. The Lord existed in a perfect loving relationship before He created the Heavens and The Earth. God created us to be a part of the loving relationship He exists in today. God created us to be loved by Him. The Lord created us to love Him with all our hearts, souls, and strength. Jesus created us with the capacity to love another person so deeply it can become an example of God’s love for us. We cannot replicate God’s love for people. We can be reflection of His love to them! Everyone wants to be loved. God created us with that desire. Love has become a casualty of life in a fallen world. Most people do not understand what true love is. True love has a name. His name is Jesus! Jesus wants to teach us how to love Him. Jesus does not want us to live meaningless mundane lives. He wants us to know the joy that comes from living in the light of His love. Jesus wants us to experience the love that surpasses all understanding. Jesus wants to reveal more of His love to us each day! Jesus wants us to love all His people as much as He does. Jesus wants us to demonstrate our love for Him by loving each other regardless of our differences and disagreements. I am my beloved’s, and his desire is towards me. Vs 10 The Shulamite had complete confidence in her beloved’s love for her. Are you confident in God’s love for you? Jesus loves you more than any man or woman ever will! http://www.joyfor2day.com https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
