So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me more than these? He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, Feed My lambs. He said to him again a second time, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me? He said to Him, Yes Lord; You know that I love You. He said to him, Tend My sheep. He said to him the third time, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me? Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, Do you love Me and he said to Him, Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You. Jesus said to him, Feed My sheep. John 21:15-18 NKJV
Peter declared to Jesus; “even if all are made to stumble I will not stumble.”
When the Lord was crucified Peter denied Jesus three times. God gave Peter an opportunity to declare his love for Jesus once for each of the three times he denied the Lord. Jesus gave Peter a commission to serve His people once for each of his denials.
Jesus demonstrated His unconditional love, forgiveness and acceptance for His disciples past present and future. The Lord demonstrated His willingness and ability to carry out His good and perfect plan for our lives despite our sins, failures, and mistakes.
I am thankful for the unconditional forgiveness, love and acceptance Jesus offers today! I am thankful God gives me an opportunity to declare my love for Him even though I have denied Him in so many ways so many times!
God has a perfect plan for our lives. God is faithful and continues to work out His good and perfect plan for our lives even when we are unfaithful!
The Lord your God in your midst, The mighty one, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.
Zephaniah 3:17 NKJV
God is speaking to the people He loves. The people He chose to live in a special set apart relationship with Him based on His great love for them. God is speaking to stubborn, stiff necked and rebellious people who lived long ago.
God is in our midst today. He will save us. He will rejoice over us with gladness. He will quiet us with His love. He will rejoice over us with singing today!
I am thankful God’s love for us is so great He will rejoice over us with singing even though we can be a stubborn, stiff necked, and rebellious. I am thankful God loves us so much He chooses to rejoice and celebrate His great love for us!
The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. Psalm 145:18 NKJV
God is near broken hearted people. He is near to all people who call out to Him out of a sincere desire to know Him. God wants to be known by us. He wants us to love Him just as He has loves us. God is committed to our welfare and meeting our needs. God’s commitment to us is perfect, complete and eternal. I am thankful that God is committed to us in every way today!
