Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. Psalm 91:9-10 NKJV
Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him my salvation. Vs 14-16 My wife reads this portion of scripture during difficult times. It encourages her. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Vs 1 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. Vs 5 A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. Vs 7 My favorite part is when God tells us why He will protect us from harm. God promises to protect people who set their love upon Him. He promises to protect people who know His name. God’s names describe His character. The Lord wants you to know His name. God is righteous and holy. He is perfect in all His ways. His Word is true. He is true to His Word. When the Most High makes a promise He keeps it! If you set your love upon Jesus you can call upon Him anytime of the day or night. Jesus will answer you when you are in trouble. Jesus will deliver you and honor you. Jesus shows His salvation to people who know Him! One of the most repeated commands in the bible is wait on the Lord. Dwell in the secret place of the Almighty while you wait for Him. Abide under the shadow of God’s faithfulness. Do not be afraid of the terror of life in a dark world. Do not fear the arrows slung at you by the devil, nor the pestilence of a fallen creation, nor the destruction that comes swiftly and suddenly on planet earth. Jesus is with you in trouble. He will not leave you. He will bring you safely through this life into the beauty of His holiness in eternity! Show Jesus that you trust Him. Show Jesus that you adore Him even during times of trial and hardship. Thank God for the trials that are perfecting your faith in Jesus! www.joyfor2day.com www.facebook.com/Joyfor2dayDailyDevotional https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
