You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. John 15:16 NKJV
I love sharing the amazing things God has done in my life. There was a time when every civilization passed down the history of their people by telling stories. The stories I tell are all true. I tell them to glorify God. God created us to be His witnesses. He created us to testify of His mercy and grace. God created us to testify of His great love for people. My earthly father served in the Navy as a young man. He traveled the world. He loved camping hunting fishing and scuba diving. When I was boy he had me take pictures of him diving off a cliff. I snapped two before he hit the water. My father was also a two-fisted bar room brawler and a womanizer. He lived for excitement. He was prideful and selfish. He called himself the plumbing god. His grandparents took my father to a Baptist church when he was a child. As an adult he had no time or desire for God. He believed death would be the end of his existence. The man who made no room in his life for family or God was diagnosed with ALS. His body became limp and useless. He spent the last two years of his life sitting in a chair tethered to a suction machine. He depended on other people for his every need. One beautiful sunny day I prayed for my father as I drove down the road. God spoke to me. He said; “your father is saved”. When I arrived at my destination people were looking up. There was one small cloud in the sky. It had every color of the rainbow in it. It was a promise from God that my father would be saved! My dad surrendered his heart to Jesus a short time later. I was in the room when he went to be with the Lord. I told him the last thing he would every have to do is trust Jesus to take him home. He passed peacefully into the presence of his Savior! Jesus is not saying the Father will give us everything we ask for in prayer. He will not give us things that harm us. Jesus is saying He has appointed us to bear fruit by answering our prayers of faith! Why does God want us to pray for things He has already decided to do? God gave us dominion over the earth. He chose us to represent Him. The Father chose us to lead people to Jesus! Pray in Jesus name for the Father to produce fruits of righteousness from your life. That is a prayer faith. It is a prayer the Father wants to answer! www.joyfor2day.com www.facebook.com/Joyfor2dayDailyDevotional https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
