Three armies were coming against the nation of Judah. They would be hopelessly outnumbered. The King called out to God in prayer! The answer the Lord gave was;
Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow go down against them. They will surely come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the brook before the Wilderness of Jeruel. You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you. O Judah and Jerusalem! Do not fear or be dismayed, tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you. 2 Chronicles 20:15-17 NKJV The people of Judah marched out with singers praising God in front of them. They met their enemies exactly where God said they would be. God brought about a great victory for His people because they positioned themselves in faith! My wife and I experienced the heartbreak far too many parents know. Our sons became addicted to drugs. We were stressed to the breaking point. Our faith in God never failed. We did teeter on the brink of hopelessness and despair. When the Lord gave us this verse of scripture our perspective changed. We began to see the battle for our sons as the Lord’s. We accepted that we were helpless in the battle against evil. We believed the battle is the Lord’s and He is always victorious! On a clear winter night I looked up into the night sky. I beheld the magnificence of God’s creation. I prayed; “Lord you created the heavens and the earth. You created the stars in the night sky. You call each one of them by name. You are able to deliver my sons from bondage!” The Lord spoke to me that night. He said, “I will deliver them!” Since that night I have known God will bring healing and restoration into their lives! It is often a struggle to believe Jesus will fight our battles. Our middle sons journey through the land of practical unbelief has taken him to jails and rehabs. He calls himself a born again believer in Jesus Christ. One day He will position himself in faith and see the salvation of the Lord who has been with him all these years. Our older son lives in another state. He has gone off into the bondage of unbelief. God is going to deliver him. He will deliver them because they belong to Him! I do not know what battles you face. I do know if you trust God He will fight them for you. He will fight your battles because you belong to Him. Jesus will fight your battles because He is with you and for today! http://www.joyfor2day.com https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
