After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceeding great reward. Genesis 15:1 NKJV
The Lord spoke to Abram in a vision after what things? God spoke to Abram in a vision after he rescued Lott. It was after Abram refused to receive any profit from rescuing his nephew. God spoke to Abram after Melchizedek, the King of Salem; the priest of God fed and blessed him. Abram gave a tenth of all of the goods he received to Melchizedek. Melchizedek is a mysterious character. He’s the King of Salem. He’s the Priest of God Most High. I believe He is the pre-incarnate Lord. The bible leaves room for interpretation and different views. They should not cause division among God’s people. God spoke to Abraham after he demonstrated his commitment to honor and obey God in the way he lived! Does God speak to people in visions today? Some Christians say He does not. Others believe God does speak to people in visions today. The Lord commands us to love each other. He wants us to dwell together in unity. Unity does not necessarily mean conformity. God does not expect us to be Christian robots. Non-essential issues should not bring about division into the Body of Christ! God does speak to people through the bible today! God told Abram not to be afraid. God was with Him. God protected Him. God wanted Abraham to live an abundant life and in relationship with the Lord during his Earthly sojourn. He wanted Abraham to live in blessed perfection with Jesus in the age to come! God is saying the same things to us He told Abraham. Jesus wants us to cast aside our fear of rejection and persecution so we can declare His glory to people. God wants us to cast aside our fears as we walk in obedience to Him today. The Lord wants to bless us with prosperity of spirit today! Jesus wants us to love Him today so we can live with Him in blessed perfection in the age to come. Jesus wants us to step out in faith and speak the truth of God to a world that denies Him. Jesus wants us to testify of His great love for His people today! You will not be alone as you serve God for His glory. Jesus will be with you today just as He was with Abraham! Jesus created you to live an abundant life of love and relationship with Him throughout eternity. Don’t be afraid. Surrender everything to Jesus. He will be your shield and great reward forever! http://www.joyfor2day.com https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
