Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock; You who dwell between the cherubim, shine forth! Before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh, Stir up Your strength, And come save us! Psalm 80:1-2 NKJV
The northern tribes of Israel were taken into captivity. The people of Judah and Jerusalem were in a state of shock. The sheep of His flock cried out to the Great Shepherd for deliverance and restoration. God’s people were not just crying out for national restoration. They were crying out for spiritual restoration. They confessed their sin before the Lord. They asked for God’s forgiveness and mercy! I have family members who have been taken captive by sin. I could have never imagined the depths of depravity they would sink into. My horror and shock turned into depression. I cried until my face hurt. I begged Jesus to come save us. I do not just cry out for my loved ones to stop sinning. I asked Jesus to stir up revival in their hearts. I prayed for the spiritual restoration that leads to eternal blessings! The Lord has not answered my prayer for deliverance and restoration yet. He did move me to confess my sin. I asked for His forgiveness and mercy. That is the evidence of the answered prayer I have not yet seen with my eyes! Spiritual restoration and revival begins with confession of sin! Restore us, O Lord God of hosts; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved! Vs 3 The people of God were desperate for His intervention, are we? My faith in God is the substance of things I hope for, is yours? The God I know saves people. He will save my beloved. I do not know when. I do not know how. I do know why. Jesus loves them more than I do. Jesus is going to save them as a witness to other people who need His intervention! I do not know who or what you cry out to Jesus for. I do know He wants you to pray for revival and spiritual restoration. It begins with confession of sin! I wrote these words several years ago. I continued to pray for the people I love as days turned into weeks and months turned into years. I chose joy even though my heart ached. I stood in faith as I waited for Jesus. The mighty God of feeble man saved us! I have seen Jesus raise the dead in trespasses and sins back to life. I have seen Him ignite a spark of faith in a dead spirit. A body wracked with pain grows stronger day by day. Why did He do it? Because He loves us! Carry your beloved before Jesus in prayer. He will save them. Be a witness to people who need the Lord’s intervention! www.joyfor2day.com www.facebook.com/Joyfor2dayDailyDevotional https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
