“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
I have a Facebook friend who posts a list of people who need prayer. Many of them are children. God has given her a heart after His own loving heart. That heart has been broken many times by the loss of a precious one.
Jesus promised we would suffer trials hardships and tribulation on our journey through life in a fallen world. It is a promise the Lord has kept.
Does God want us to suffer? Does everything that happens in our lives line up with God’s will?
My wife has suffered from migraine headaches for several years. While looking for a diagnosis doctors discovered she has a severely damaged cervical spinal cord. While recovering from surgery she developed an infection. Is it God’s will for her to suffer?
Not everything that happens to us is within God’s will. Sin and death have tainted God’s perfection creation. We have free will. We make mistakes we fail we sin. The devil is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.
God wants us to have peace in the midst of trial and turmoil. Jesus overcame the world. His good and perfect will for creation will ultimately prevail!
My heart is broken when my wife suffers. How can I have peace? I must renew my mind with the Word of God!
God promises to bring healing and restoration into our lives. It is a true promise just as Jesus is true. It is a promise we may not be able to see with our eyes today!
Jesus knows your pain and anguish. Jesus knows the heartbreak and despair of a parent who loses a precious child. Jesus knows the sorrow and heartache you and I experience as we journey through life in a fallen world. Jesus wants to comfort you as only He can!
Do not be deceived. You are an eternal being created in the image and likeness of Almighty God. You will outlive your pain and suffering. Sin and death will not follow you into the blessedness of eternity.
This world is not your home. If you have surrendered to Jesus you will live forever in a world with no pain tears sorrow or death. You will spend eternity in the presence of a loving God and the precious ones who have gone before you!
Jesus overcame the world so you can overcome the trials and tribulations in your life!
I wrote most of these words many years ago. Trials tribulations and hardships have come and gone. Storms rolled into our lives and blew away. Jesus has never left us. He was with us in the eye of the storm. Jesus is with us today as we overcome adversity!
