Therefore, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me. Micah 7:7 NKJV
The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him. Nahum 1:7 NKJV
I came upon these two verses of scripture this morning. They are in different books. The first is in the last chapter of Micah. The second is in the first chapter of Nahum.
God used these two verses of scripture to show me His Word is woven together in an intricate tapestry of divine revelation. The Word of God is a beautiful mosaic designed to enlighten and encourage us!
I read the first verse. I was encouraged to look to the Lord. I was encouraged to wait for God to deliver me from my circumstances. I was reminded God does hear my voice when I cry out to Him.
The second verse was a confirmation of the first.
Jesus is good. His presence is a place of safety for me. I stand before Him both night and day. Jesus knows I trust Him. Jesus knows He is my hope and strength. I look to Jesus when I am in need regardless of what the need is.
A friend of mine says; “We must labor to rest.” What does that mean?
It means trusting God is not always easy. It is not always easy because we are bombarded with distractions and lies. We need to be deliberate in seeking God. We need to be steadfast in trusting Jesus with our lives. We should consistently seek the encouragement of God’s Word.
Jesus is not a respecter of persons.
My God delivers me in my time of need. He will deliver you in your time of need. Jesus is a stronghold in my day of trouble. He can be a stronghold for you in your day of trouble.
Jesus hears me when I cry out to Him. Jesus will hear you if you cry out to Him. My God knows I trust Him. He knows if you trust Him.
Jesus opens-up His Word and speaks to me. Jesus will open-up His Word and speak to you.
Let the Word of God dwell richly in your heart today. Labor to rest in the grace of God every day!
