“For His eyes are on the ways of man, And He sees all his steps. There is no darkness nor shadow of death where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.” 34:21-22 NKJV
Jesus knows what everyone of us has done in the past. He knows what each of us will do in the future. Jesus knows what is in our hearts to accomplish today. Nothing is hidden from God.
There is nowhere for evil people to hide. There is no way for anyone to keep evil deeds hidden. And yet it seems like evil does go unpunished. There are many innocent people suffering needlessly all over the world. Why is there so much injustice in the world?
Why does God allow evil? Where is Jesus? Has He gone away and left us to ourselves?
Satan is not the primary source of evil, we are. We placed him on the throne as god of this world by believing his lies instead of obeying God. The devil’s temporary status as ruler of this world does not make him the ultimate authority over it. True power is reserved for Almighty God!
Not even death can prevent God’s ultimate judgment and punishment of evil. The Lord will hold the devil and all his followers, human or angelic, to account. God waits. He waits for people to choose Him and reject evil.
One of the reasons God allows evil to fester is for us to have a clear choice. We can choose to live with Jesus and for Him throughout eternity. Or we can choose the temporary pleasures of sin and rebellion today and eternal separation from Him in eternity.
Sin is enjoyable for a season. It leads to pain and sorrow. It leads to isolation and destruction. The consequences of sin and rebellion against God experienced on the earth pale in comparison to separation from Jesus in eternity!
Elias Drummer said; “Christianity is not a tool to avoid suffering, it is a lens through which we can understand it.”
The servants of God must know the heartache and sting of sin so we can take a stand of faith. A wise person looks to the consequences of his or her actions. Without consequences we cannot make good and godly decisions.
Jesus has not gone away and left us to ourselves. He promised never to leave us or turn His back on us. Jesus keeps His promises. He lives in the hearts and minds of His people today. Jesus will take us to live with Him in His father’s house forever!
Do not judge God for your circumstances. Be thankful for them. Jesus is training you to be a mighty warrior for God’s glory and the people He loves!
