Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. John 14:12 NKJV
Who am I to send out these daily messages? What makes me think I have the knowledge qualifications and understanding of God’s Word to write these devotions? Those questions completely miss the point! The question is not who am I, but what am I? I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I am the temple of the Holy Spirit. What greater works is Jesus talking about? Jesus is God. We cannot be greater than Him. God’s Word says we will do greater works than Jesus, How? The Lord does not walk the earth in bodily form today. Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father praying for us. The “Other Helper” The Holy Spirit is active in the world drawing people to the Father. He is in us, empowering and enabling us to be about the Father’s business! When we submit to the Lord, yield ourselves to Him, obey Him and draw near to Him, Jesus’ ministry is multiplied. How do we submit to Jesus? How do we yield ourselves to Jesus? How do we obey and draw near the Lord? By faith! By faith I get up in the morning. By faith I open up my bible. I ask Jesus which scripture verse He wants to send out. By faith I type out what the Lord puts in my heart and mind. God is not a respecter of persons. I am not anyone special. If you step out in faith Jesus will give you what you need when you need it to accomplish His will for your life. Jesus is not looking for spiritual superstars. The Lord is looking for willing servants! Jesus is looking for men and women whose hearts are surrendered to Him. He is looking for men and women who will allow the Lord to do greater works in them and through them today! Today is the day for you to do the greater works of God. Do what you can right where you are with what you have for the glory of God! Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father interceding on your behalf. What is Jesus asking the Father for? Jesus is asking the Father to answer your prayers when you pray according to the Father’s will. What is the Father’s will? God wants you to serve Him. Serve the Lord by faith in Jesus Christ! #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
