For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth; And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God, Who I shall see for myself, And my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me! Job 19:25 NKJV
Job was described as blameless and upright, a man who feared God and shunned evil. He was the greatest of all the people of the east.
Satan incited God to take everything away from Job. He lost his children, wealth, standing among his people and health. People who admired and respected Job abandoned and ridiculed him. Even his wife turned against him.
Job was careful to obey the letter and the spirit of God’s law. He even offered sacrifices to cover sins of omission. Job never knew why God allowed him to suffer such anguish of body soul and spirit. But Job never lost faith in the goodness and mercy of God!
Job never spoke out against the Lord. Job knew his suffering would end. Job looked past his circumstances to the future God promised people who live for Him!
Long before the incarnation of Jesus job knew his redeemer lived! Job knew his Lord and Savior would come to save God’s people!
Job knew the life he lived in the flesh would end. Job believed he would be resurrected to stand in the presence of God. He knew the blessedness of that day would erase any memory of his suffering and hardship.
In his heart Job yearned for the day he would stand in the presence of his redeemer!
