In God is my salvation and my glory; The Rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God. Psalm 62:7 NKJV
The Lord used me to tell a convicted murderer He has a calling on his life. God is calling Him to repentance. He is at a crossroads. He must choose whom he will serve. He must choose where he will spend eternity! God sent me to another man who committed murder. He thinks no one knows about it. The Lord knows. He will be held accountable for what he did. He must decide where he will spend eternity! The Lord led me to a man who said he tried praying but God does not speak to him. I said “Jesus loves you. He wants to have an intimate relationship with you. He wants you to live with Him in a perfect place called heaven. God just spoke to you!” I gave these men bibles tracts that explained how they can be born again. I do not know the results of my witness. God is not calling us to save people. He is not calling us to determine if people will respond to the gospel or not. God is calling us to the share gospel with people and leave the results of our witness to Him. He will reveal Himself to people the same way He revealed Himself to us. I am not a spiritual superhero. Neither are you. God is not looking for spiritual superstars. He is looking for men and women who know only God can save people. He can use ordinary people to turn lives right side up. I wrote those words when I went to work in a state prison. It is a dark and evil place. I went to work believing I was a missionary. God was sending me into the darkness to be a light. I discovered God was already there! There were times when I felt like I could not go back into that prison. I did go back day after day. I went back because the God of my salvation was with me. The Rock I build my house on protected me. I fled to Him when I was fearful. He gave me refuge! This has been a difficult week for me. I came before the Lord. I asked Him if I should continue sending out these messages. I searched my heart to discern the motive for why I write them. I remembered why I started in the first place. What did I learn? I have no faith in what I can do for God. My trust is in what God has done for us. I have learned to trust in the grace of God to minister through me! God is calling us to make ourselves available to Him. The God of our salvation, the Rock of our strength, my refuge, my glory, and yours, is calling us to serve Him! Do not be afraid to enter the stronghold of evil. Jesus will be there. Do not be afraid to speak truth to the darkest of hearts. The love of Jesus shines brightest in the darkest places. Be bold and confident. Jesus is with you wherever you go when you go for Him! www.joyfor2day.com www.facebook.com/Joyfor2dayDailyDevotional https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
