Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, Who walks in His ways.
When you eat the labor of your hands, you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the very heart of your house, your children like olive plants all around your table. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord. The Lord bless you out of Zion, And may you see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life. Yes, may you see your children’s children. Peace be upon Israel! Psalm 128 NKJV This chapter describes various blessings that follow people who fear God. There are many more. Not all of them can be seen through fleshly eyes. They are just as real! God blessed people who learned to walk in His ways in antiquity. Jesus blesses people who learn to walk in His ways today. Be one of them. I desire to serve the Lord. I want to walk in His ways. The sinful desires of my flesh rise up against the longing of my heart. It is the fear of the Lord that keeps me from straying off into sin! When a person truly fears the Lord God can have His way with him or her. That does not mean we will never sin. It means our lives will not be controlled by sin. All of us have sinned. All of us fall short of the glory of God. That means me and you! When we walk in obedience to Jesus we have is enough. We suffer less calamity and hardship. Our marriages prosper. Our homes are filled with peace and love. God’s Word is true. His promises never fail. That does not we will live fairy tale lives of wealth and leisure. Job was a righteous man. There were none like him in all the earth. His children were taken from him. His wife did not stand with him during his great trial. Job feared God. He walked in the ways of the Lord. God restored to Job more than he lost. Job was blessed more at the end of his life than he was at the beginning of his trial. The greatest trial of my life seems to drag on without end. Faith blossoms into hope and promise. A season of peace is spoiled by repeated patterns of sin. Our hearts are broken. Our faith is tested. I can surrender to sin, anger, fear and shame or to Jesus. I choose Jesus! His love never fails. His Word is always true. Jesus always keeps His promises. Jesus will lead me into the eternal land of promise where love prevails! This may be a time of trial and testing in your home. You may have lost more than you ever thought you could. Fear God. Learn to walk in His ways! Jesus will bless you in the land of promise. With your own eyes you will behold the City of our God. You will dwell among your loved ones in the presence of Jesus throughout eternity if you fear the Lord and walk in His ways! The lover of your soul will prevail. Jesus blesses His people with peace! www.joyfor2day.com https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
