For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 NKJV
Do you ever feel like dancing? I am not talking about going to a night club. I’m talking about being filled with the joy of the Lord. I mean celebrating God’s love by cutting loose and flowing in the spirit.
King David danced before the Lord as the Ark of the Covenant was brought into Jerusalem. God inhabits the praises of His people. Worship brings us into His presence.
I promise not to boogie in church on Sunday. I will not run down the aisles either. I want to contribute to corporate worship. I do want not to be a distraction. There will be times I am so filled with the joy of the risen Lord I dance before Jesus in my heart!
I turn to the book of Isaiah when I need encouragement. The book of Isaiah was written to reveal that salvation is of the Lord. It was written to people who were loved by God. They were blessed by God. It was written to stiff necked and rebellious people as well!
God disciplined and punished Israel many times. The Lord never stopped loving them. Time and time again God declared He would restore Israel to their privileged status as the apple of His eye!
Chapter 55 of Isaiah is an invitation to live an abundant life. An abundant life is filled with meaning and purpose. People who live an abundant life receive everlasting joy and contentment through Faith in Jesus Christ. They impact generations of people for Jesus!
Jesus is God. He knows infinitely more than we ever can ever know. We are influenced by our sinful selfish desires. We are deceived by evil forces. We are limited by many things in many ways.
God has no limitations. He needs no counselor or adviser. He is not influenced by anyone or anything. God stands alone above creation. He is perfect in every way. The Lord knows all things. He is all powerful. Nothing can stand in opposition to Him!
The omnipotent (all powerful), omniscient (all knowing) and omnipresent (He is everywhere) God loves you. His love for you will never end. His love for you will never fail.
This day has not yet revealed all that is in store for you. If you trust Jesus you will not face the day alone. The Lord will go before you. He will be your rear guard. Jesus will walk beside you every step of the way. Jesus will be with you because you are His beloved.
You are the apple of God’s eye. It pleases Jesus to love you. It pleases the Lord to hold you in palms of His loving hands!
