Who among you fears the Lord? Who obeys the voice of His servant? Who walks in darkness and Has no light? Let Him trust in the name of the Lord And rely upon His God. Isaiah 50:10 NKJV
The book of Isaiah reveals God’s will for His people. It was written to people who lived long ago in a far-off land. It was written for those of us living today in the good old USA. I did not meet Jesus until I was 32 years old. God has done amazing things in my life. He freed me from bondage to drugs and alcohol. He delivered me the loneliness and isolation of immorality. I still struggle with the pride of life and the lust of the flesh. There are times when the only thing that keeps me from giving in to temptation is the fear of the Lord. I am not afraid that God is waiting for me to slip up so He can punish me. It is not that I am afraid of Him. I understand the consequences of disobedience. The Word of God reveals the blessedness of a life lived in faith for the glory of God. The bible also tells us that living a life of disobedience to God results in separation from Him. Jesus gives us what we need when we need it. Sometimes I need to be reminded that the Lord will hold me accountable for my actions. God wants us to obey the voice of the Lord. Jesus Christ is the Word of God. Jesus speaks to us through the Word of God. I watched a movie about a young couple with 5 children. One of their children was killed in front of his younger brother. The younger brother grew up full of sorrow and anger. He spent much of his life going in and out of prison. He was in bondage to sin! The young man’s parents loved him deeply. They never gave up on him. The movie made me cry. God used it stir up a desire in my heart to help young people who are caught up in sin. One day my life will end. I want to make a difference while I can! My greatest desire is to serve Jesus in the way He calls me to serve Him before I step into eternity to be with Him. Serving Jesus requires that we serve people. It is not possible to serve Jesus without serving His people! We are surrounded by people who are living in darkness and do not even know it. When Adam sinned and became separated from God, the first question the Lord asked Adam is “where are you.” Where are you today? Are you walking in darkness? If so, Jesus wants to bring you into the light of His love. You can experience the transforming grace of God by trusting in the name of Jesus. You can experience the abundant life by relying on Jesus. If you love the Lord and fear Jesus, obey His voice by offering your heart and life to Him. Jesus wants you to serve Him by serving His people. Jesus is calling you to allow Him to reach people who are walking in darkness through you! Trust Jesus to use you for His glory. Rely on the Lord to lead you and guide into His will! www.joyfor2day.com https://www.facebook.com/louie.garcia.921 https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
