When Israel went out of Egypt, The house of Jacob from a people of strange language, Judah became His sanctuary, And Israel His dominion. Psalm 114 NKJV
God delivered Israel from bondage in a nation symbolic of sin. The land of promise became the place where God dwelled among His people. God was separating Israel from ungodly people and nations to bring forth a Savior! Jesus is delivering people from bondage today. Jesus dwells in the hearts and minds of His people today. Almighty God calls us to be holy and set apart from ungodly influence. The Lord wants to use us to redeem people who call on Jesus today! The sea saw it and fled; Jordan turned back. The mountains skipped like rams, The little hills like lambs. What ails you, O sea, that you fled? O Jordan, that you turned back? O mountains, that you skipped like rams? O little hills, like lambs? Vs 3-6 A literary style called personification giving human attributes to inanimate objects is employed here. The sea river and mountains are questioned forcing them to acknowledge God’s power when He delivered His people in miraculous ways. The guns saw and went silent. The prison doors swung open. The dessert fled, the cactus bloomed. Painted dessert why did you roll up like a scroll just in time for our heavenly ride? Who commanded with fear and awe when I was set free? Salvation was just the beginning for me and Lorna Lee! God delivered me from bondage and set me free. He meets our needs daily you see. Today He might command the ravens to bring meat and bread. Tomorrow the trees may provide a roof over our head. God calls forth storms. We’ve seen more than a few. He puts our hearts at perfect peace. He does it for me. He can do it for you! Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the God of Jacob, Who turned the rock into a pool of water, The flint into a fountain of waters. Vs 8 God’s power is awesome and terrifying. It is something we cannot grasp with our finite minds. The Lord does not want us to fear His mighty power. He wants us to be encouraged by it. God provided for my family in miraculous ways. I hold on to those memories like precious heirlooms. They help me keep moving forward toward the light of His love in the darkest times. How did Jesus reveal Himself to you? Hold on to those memories like precious heirlooms. Use the memory of God’s miraculous provision to keep you moving forward toward the light of His love! www.joyfor2day.com www.facebook.com/Joyfor2dayDailyDevotional https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
