I will sing of mercy and justice; To you, O Lord, I will sing praise. I will behave wisely in a perfect way. Oh, when will you come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me. A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know wickedness. Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy; The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart, Him I will not endure. My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land, That they may dwell with me; He who walks in a perfect way, He shall serve me. He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house; He who tells lies shall not continue in my presence. Early I will destroy all the wicked of the land, That I may cut off all the evildoers from the city of the Lord. Psalm 101 NKJV David makes a vow and profession of godliness. He declares his desire to be faithful as the king of God’s people. David experienced the mercy forgiveness, and grace of God in a personal way. He sinned against God. The nation of Israel was punished for David’s sin. His child died. God did not turn his back on David. The Lord loved David. He blessed David! David did not abuse the mercy and grace of God. He did not see the Lord’s forgiveness as a license to sin. David viewed the Lord’s mercy as an opportunity to recommit his life to God! God wants you to experience His love in a personal way. God knows everything you have ever done. He knows every thought you have ever had. His mercy and grace are available to you today. His forgiveness is an opportunity to recommit your life to Jesus! Human beings are reward driven. Many of us have been deceived. We believe the rewards for living a sinful life outweigh the rewards of living for Jesus. That is not true. The benefits of living for God surpass the benefits of living any other way. I am not suggesting if you follow the Ten Commandments you will be rich and famous. I am not saying obedience to God will result in a life of leisure free from trials and hardship. We were created to live in intimate relationship with Jesus. No one or any other thing can satisfy our needs and desires the way God can. The rewards for living according to God’s will are eternal. They will never lose value or fade into oblivion. They can never be taken away. Jesus loves you. Trust Him with your life. The rewards for loving Jesus are greater than our fallen minds can grasp. They are greater than are fallen bodies can contain today. In eternity our glorified bodies will be filled with the love of Jesus and the glory of God! www.joyfor2day.com https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
