Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; And attend to the voice of my supplications. Psalm 86:6 NKJV
Have you spent sleepless nights in a bed drenched in tears and perspiration? Have you ever been so stressed out you couldn’t eat? Have you ever cried so hard your eyes hurt? Three times I was in such anguish I could not function. The first time I was going through a divorce. I fell apart. I was not saved but I cried out to God for help. I asked Him to save my family. Jesus saved my soul! I did not see my sons for several months. When I did see them I was overjoyed until it was time for them to leave. I wept before the Lord. God spoke to me. He said “I have seen your pain!” Years ago someone I love walked off into sin. I was heartbroken. It was the evil one who spoke to me that night. He said he was going to destroy my beloved. I fell to the floor and cried out to God. I prayed all night long. Just before the sun came up I felt the presence of God all around me. Jesus intervened. My beloved repented. My beloved turned back to Jesus! My son is very ill. Once again my soul is in anguish. I cannot remember the last time I cried so hard. I took him to the hospital. Doctors cannot explain what is happening to him. I cried out to Jesus. He inclined His ear to hear my prayer. How do I know God heard my prayer? The same way David did. We have history together. Jesus has never failed to rescue me when I call out to Him! My heart is broken. I am not in despair. My hope in the goodness and mercy of God has not failed. God focused His attention upon the voice of my supplication! My son walked off into sin. His illness has been worsened by drug addiction. I pray and wait. Jesus hears my prayers. He gives them the attention they deserve. He will rescue my son! I wrote this message five years ago. My son came home two years ago. He spent several months in a restoration program. He is the child of promise my wife longed for. His heart is once again filled with joy. He fills our home with laughter and love. Our son is no longer a boy. He is a man. He still struggles with sin and addiction. He is not alone. We love and support him anyway we can. We cover him in prayer. The Lord hears our prayers. Jesus answers our prayers. Jesus fights for His soul night and day! Your soul may be in anguish. Call out to Jesus. He sees your pain. The Lord will hear your prayer. The God of the bible never failed to rescue His people in biblical times. He never fails to rescue people who call out to Him today. Trust Jesus. He will rescue you! www.joyfor2day.com www.facebook.com/Joyfor2dayDailyDevotional https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
