Let God arise, Let His enemies be scattered; Let those also who hate Him flee before Him. As smoke is driven away, So drive them away; As wax melts before the fire, So let the wicked perish at the presence of God. But let the righteous be glad; Let them rejoice before God; Yes, let them rejoice exceedingly. Psalm 68 NKJV
This Psalm proclaims the glory of God in His goodness to Israel. Does God’s goodness declare His glory today?
A pastor with passion for reaching the next generation said teenagers and young adults are abandoning the faith at alarming rates. He shared some of the reasons with us. One of them is biblical illiteracy.
I looked at a website that uses the bible to attack God. It twists and distorts the scriptures to cast the Lord in an evil and capricious light. It calls Christians lying hypocritical bigots. It accuses God’s people of being ignorant blind fools!
Sing praise to God, sing praises to His name; Extol Him who rides on the clouds, By His name Yah, And rejoice before Him. Vs 4
This psalm is also a hymn of victory. It celebrates the arrival of the Ark of the Covenant into Jerusalem, calls for the wicked to flee before God and on the nations to praise Him
Jesus wants us to sing praises. Jesus wants us to extol His name. He wants us to rejoice before Him. One day Jesus will come again with great power and glory!
The bible is not a fairy tale. Not everyone lives happily ever after. It is not filled with promises of riches and success. It does promise everlasting life to people who worship God. It promises eternal rewards to people who love and obey Jesus!
Only the Creator knows how to bless the people He loves perfectly! Only the God of love can dispense justice righteously! Only Jesus can judge the living and the dead!
God rules over a world soiled by sin and death. He intervenes into the affairs of mankind. He does so from outside of time. He sees the beginning when evil decisions are made. He sees the result when evil blossoms. He also sees when love and obedience brings blessing and renewed life!
God allows evil to prosper. He also takes drastic measures to protect creation from total darkness. His Judgment is always correct! His justice is always righteous! His love is always perfect!
For the sake of the next generation be prepared to give a reason for the hope that lies within you. Be prepared to answer tough questions raised by friend or foe!
Sing praises to God in your heart. Be exceedingly glad and rejoice. God is always good to His people!
