The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving-kindness I have drawn you. Jeremiah 31:3 NKJV
God chose Israel to be His beloved. He chose them to be separate from the other nations of the world. God chose them to live with Him in a special loving relationship. God’s desire from the beginning was to bless protect and provide for Israel. Israel turned away from the Lord. They chose to be like the surrounding nations. They chose to reject his love and protection. God never gave up on the children of Israel. He judged them. He punished them. He did it to draw them back into His loving care and protection. He wanted to draw them back into a special relationship with His loving-kindness. People who live by faith in Jesus Christ today are the people of God! We are God’s chosen people. He wants us to be different than the people around us. God wants us to live under His blessing and protection. Jesus is drawing us into a special relationship with His loving-kindness today! You shall be My people, And I will be your God. Jeremiah 30:22 When I was saved the Lord spoke to me. He said “My hand has always been upon you”. Jesus was at work in my life even before I surrendered my heart to Him. I remembered times when I found myself in desperate circumstances. The years of isolation and loneliness came back to my memory. Jesus gave me what I needed when I needed it to believe He is God! If you know the Lord it is because His hand has always been upon you. He called you by name so you could know His name! The Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run to Him and they are saved. He is the Father of Lights. He is long-suffering. His mercy endures forever! God is calling people out of the darkness of desperation and despair today. He is drawing people out of bondage to unbelief today. The process of getting to know the Lord is not always an easy one. Many of us had to come to the end of our resources and strength before surrendering to Him. Some of us had to suffer heartache loneliness and isolation before giving our hearts to Jesus. We had to be drawn by His loving-kindness. Jesus has drawn you with His loving-Kindness so you could love Him. He called you by name so you can make His name known to other people. Lift up the name of Jesus so He can draw others out of the darkness and despair of unbelief into the light of His loving-kindness! http://www.joyfor2day.com https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
