And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25 NKJV
The Lord brought to my mind a brother I fellowship with. We are completely different. From a human perspective we have nothing in common.
I love my brother very much. We assemble together with other believers and lift up the Name of Jesus. We stir each other up to good works. We exhort and encourage each other.
To look down upon or despise people who look or live differently is sin. God created us to live together in faith and love in Jesus Christ.
Love conquers all. God demonstrated His love for us in this, “For God so loved the world that He gave His One and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
The day of the Lord is approaching. The kingdom of God is here now!
God tells us that where two or more people are gathered together He is there. The Lord does not want us to isolate from other believers. When we isolate ourselves from other believers we become an easy target for the enemy of our souls.
There is a growing movement to leave the “organized church” and meet in private homes with smaller groups of people.
I was involved in small groups for many years. The Lord used them to bless and teach me. I encourage you to meet in small groups in a comfortable environment. I would never encourage anyone to stop attending church services!
The early church met in homes because they were small in number, lacked resources and buildings were not available.
God receives glory praise and honor when we gather together in large groups. He uses us to encourage exhort and bless each other. The Lord distributes spiritual gifts among His people so we can stir each other up to love and good works.
Gather together with the people of God in groups of all sizes.
We can serve God by serving His people. Let’s encourage each other with the love of God. We can exhort each other with the Word of God today.
Remember that the day of the Lord is rapidly approaching!
