When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, We were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” The Lord has done great things for us, And we are glad. Psalm 126 NKJV
The people of God sing of their joyful return to Zion. The Lord delivered His people from bondage to the Egyptians. It was not long before they returned to the land of sin in their hearts. God delivered them back into bondage to the Babylonians. God promised to bring His people back from the land of exile. He restored them to the land of promise. God always keeps His promises! Jesus delivered me from bondage to sin. One day I was hopelessly addicted to drugs and alcohol. The next I was praising God. It was an amazing transformation. I went from devising ways to get high to burying my nose in the Word of God. I looked back to the land of sin through rose colored glasses. I forgot the pain and heartache. I went back into bondage. Bring back our captivity, O Lord, As the streams in the South. Vs 4 The Children of Israel call out to God to bring His people back from the land of captivity. The day of my return from exile came on resurrection Sunday. I realized God had already set me free from sin and slavery. I only needed to walk in the freedom He freely gave me! The Lord sent me to a place where men were living in bondage. I did not go there as a slave to sin. I went there as a bond servant of Almighty God. Jesus wants us to intercede for people who have returned to the land of sin! Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing His sheaves with him. Vs 5-6 God revealed Himself to me in the spring time when all things are fresh and new. My heart was overflowing with joy. My soul was light as a feather. I was a new creation! God wants us to have a heart for hurting people. He wants us to grieve for the lost the lonely and the brokenhearted. We are not saved by good works. Jesus did save us for good works! If you have experienced the joy that comes from knowing the lover of souls you are blessed. Walk in the freedom God freely gave you. Freely share that freedom with the lost the lonely and the brokenhearted whenever you can! www.joyfor2day.com https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
