Some of the wise will stumble, so that they may be refined, purified and made spotless until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time. Daniel 11:35 NIV
It is vital for us to lift each other up when we fall! Our journey with God is often described as a walk. It is a walk and not a run because we do not always grow at a rapid pace. Just as we do not all walk at the same pace, we do not all grow in our faith at the same rate of speed. The bible also describes the Christian life as a fight. In boxing it is not always the best fighter who wins. Sometimes the fighter who can take the best punch prevails. The winner may get knocked down, get back up and fight on to victory. The better fighter may lose without the strength and stamina to continue. Sometimes when some on in our life sins we make it more difficult for them to repent and continue in the faith. It is easy for us to believe they are less spiritual than us. If we treat others like second class Christians we need to repent of our sin! For some of us the process of God purging sin from our life will involve giving into temptation. I am not condoning sin. We do not need to wallow in sin for God to have His way with us. I am not giving myself or anyone else an excuse to sin. The process of God molding us and shaping us into the image of Jesus is not the same for all of us. Jesus wants us to reach out to people who have given into to temptation. Jesus can use us to bring people back into relationship with Him. Sometimes love requires correction and confrontation. Love requires speaking the truth to people even if they do not want to hear it. Love also requires forgiving people who have repented, get back into the race and continue to fight the good fight of faith! Jesus highlighted this verse of scripture for me when a brother returned to a pattern of sin. His sin was public. It brought pain to people he loved. He confessed his sin. He repented. He walked out his repentance. God restored him. Encourage people who have fallen into sin! God can use you to bring people back into the race to eternity. He can use you to bring people back into the fight of faith. People struggling in their faith need to know you love them. Jesus is working in all our lives. The Lord is refining purifying and removing every spot of sin to prepare us for the glory that awaits us when Jesus returns! We all sin and fall short of God’s glory. Encourage others the way you would want to be encouraged. Let the love of God dwell richly in your heart so that it may be poured out on those in need today! www.joyfor2day.com https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
