John the Baptist sent two of his disciples to ask Jesus, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?” Why did John need someone to report to him what Jesus was doing?
John was in prison because he took a stand for righteousness. John was chosen by God to serve Him in a unique way. God chose the time and place John would be born. God chose his parents and his family members. John was filled with the Spirit of God.
Jesus has chosen you to serve Him in unique way. Jesus chose the time and place you would be born. He chose your parents and family members. The Lord wants you to be filled with the Spirit of God today.
Jesus began curing people of infirmities, afflictions, and evil spirits. The last words Jesus spoke to John’s disciples were; “And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me”. What did the Lord mean?
At the same time Jesus traveled the countryside setting people free from bondage to disease and demonic oppression John was in prison. While Jesus raised the dead to life John was murdered.
John knew it was time for him to step aside so the Lord of Glory could take center stage. He knew his Earthly life needed to end. John knew Jesus was the Savior of the World!
John did not envy the healing and restoration Jesus dispersed among the people. He did not complain that other people were receiving life as his was being taken from him. John did not judge God by his circumstances. John praised God for His goodness and mercy.
The Lord is pouring out His mercy and grace today!
Jesus is opening the eyes of spiritually blind people today. He is setting people free to walk by faith in God. People born dead in trespasses and sins are being raised from the dead. The gospel is going forth to people poor in spirit.
Many people are being blessed in many ways today!
You may be struggling through trials and adversity today. Do not judge God by your circumstances. Praise the Lord for His mercy and grace!
Do not be offended by the work God is doing in the lives of others. If the Son of God has set you free you are free indeed. You are free to serve the Savior of the world today!
At the appointed time you will reap eternal rewards for your faithful service to Jesus!
