“Can you search out the deep things of God? Can you find out the limits of the Almighty? They are higher than heaven-what can you do? Job 11:7 NKJV
This back and forth dialogue between Job and his friends will go on for several more chapters. It may seem like it goes on to long. It may seem monotonous and overdone. I could run out of things to say about these conversations.
God never runs out of things to say. Every word in the book of Job was given to us for a reason. The discourse between Job and his friends goes on exactly as long as God wants it to go on.
I have heard Preachers describe the Lord’s Prayer as a “cop out.” Some say praying, “God not my will but yours be done”, displays a lack of faith. Whole sermons have been devoted to that theology. It is a complete waste of time!
Can you and I search out the deep things of God? There is much about the Lord we can know. That information is found in the bible. There is also a great deal about God we do not know.
God has no limits. There are ways in which he chooses to “limit” Himself to some degree. I don’t think the word “limit” best describes things God chooses not to do but it is the only word I can think of using to describe the doctrine of free will.
God is in total control of all things. He also gives us the freedom of choice. God is so sovereign He can cause us to do things without violating our free will. Sometimes He intervenes and asserts His authority. Sometimes He allows us to make our own choices.
In my time of walking with the Lord He has intervened and saved me from disaster many times. He has also allowed me to make a mess of my life at times. God has no limits but there are things He chooses not to do.
The mentality of people who think they should order God around without regard to His will astounds me.
I’m not picking on any denomination or person. There is wisdom that Almighty God reserves for Himself. There are things only He understands. There are things only the Lord of heaven and earth can do!
Only a fool compares himself with God. It is also something we all do when we judge God by our circumstances. We do it when we judge God by conditions in the world. We do it when we order God around as if He is our servant!
Bow your heart before the Lord. Confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord!
Do not set your heart and mind on mysteries that have not yet been revealed. Seek Jesus. He is the Lord of heaven and earth. Serve Jesus. He will grant the true desires of your heart. Follow Jesus. He will lead you into all truth!
