And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. Genesis 2:25 NKJV
Before Adam and Eve fell from grace they walked around the Garden naked. They were not ashamed. They had never sinned. They had never experienced shame or guilt. The first sin committed by Adam and Eve was coveting knowledge reserved for God. Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it you will be like God knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:4-5 NKJV So, when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. Genesis 3:6 NKJV Satan told Eve God was withholding something good from them. He said they would be like God if they ate the fruit. She ate it. She gave it to Adam. He ate it. God filled the garden with fruit that was pleasant to the eyes and good for food. They did not need better food. The garden was full of sumptuous fruit. The wisdom of the ages was with them. They had fellowship with God. Adam and Eve lacked no good thing! The father of lies is among us today. He uses the media to convince us the Lord is withholding something good from us. He holds up forbidden fruits to arouse our desire. The devil wants us to believe we can be the lord of our own lives. Adam and Eve were overwhelmed with the vast amount of knowledge they received. They were eternally separated from the wisdom God made available to them. Knowledge is increasing at an incredible rate. We can search for answers to our trivial questions instantly. Wisdom calls out in the streets. Most people do not respond to her call. Godly wisdom is still available to all who call on the Name of Jesus! Are you seeking knowledge or wisdom? Will you walk with the multitude and lean on your own understanding? Or will you seek the wisdom that comes from intimate relationship with Jesus? If you are single will you obey the command not to be yoked together with an unbeliever? If you are married will you set your heart and desire on your mate or covet forbidden fruit? The desire for more than you have will always leave you wanting more than you need. Trust Jesus so you can stand in His presence without guilt or shame when you come face to face with the Ancient of Ages! There are many voices vying for your attention. Focus on Jesus so you can hear the voice of wisdom! http://www.joyfor2day.com https://twitter.com/JoyFor2day #Joyfor2daydailydevotional
