And He said to me, “Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak to you.” Ezekiel 2:1 NKJV

God chose Ezekiel to be a Prophet. God spoke to the Prophet. The prophet spoke to God’s people. Before a Prophet could speak the words of God he had to know the Word of God.

What did God say to His people through Ezekiel? Ezekiel was sent to pronounce judgment on Israel. God would judge Israel for their sin. He would judge them for turning their backs on Him.

In the book of Ezekiel God says; “Then you shall know that I Am the Lord,” “I Am the Lord your God”, “They will be My people and I will be their God,” or similar statements over seventy times!

God’s people sinned. They made mistakes. But He would never turn His back on them. He would pursue them with His love. He would be their God. They would be His people!

You have made mistakes. You have sinned. God will never turn His back on you. He will pursue you with His love!

God spoke these words to the enemies of His people as well. He would judge them. They would know He alone is God in the heavens above and on the Earth below!

God wants all people to know Him. He does not want anyone to perish. He wants all people to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ!

Do you know the Lord? Have you heard the Word of God? God wants you to partner with Him. He wants to use you to reveal Himself to people who do not know Him!

If you do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior turn to Him today. God is waiting to show you how much He loves you!

Call out to Jesus!

In the quietness of your own heart ask Jesus Christ to come into your life. Ask Him to be your Lord and Savior!

If you have questions or need help reply to this e-mail or reach out to a Christian friend or family member. Do not wait. Turn to the Lover of Your Soul today!

Study the Word of God to show yourself approved. Fill your heart and mind with the Word of God. Jesus can speak to you and through you today!

Do not harden your heart against the Lord, submit to His love and care!

But against none of the children of Israel shall a dog move its tongue, against man or beast, that you may know that the Lord does make a difference between the Egyptians and Israel. Exodus 11:7 NKJV

When the whole world was under the control of the evil one God intervened. He set apart a nation and people to be His own special possession. The Lord chose to set His heart and affection upon the children of Israel. He chose to love and care for them.

Four hundred years before God delivered the children of Israel He sent seventy men and women to live in the only country that had food. God used Joseph to provide for His people. He used Moses to bless an evil nation that worshiped a king.

God sent Moses to the King of Egypt. He spoke the words of God to the most powerful man on Earth. Pharaoh did not listen to the voice of God. He hardened his heart.

Pharaoh refused to let Israel go. The Lord brought plagues upon the land. They started small. They ended when the first born of every creature in Egypt died. Even the mighty Pharaoh lost his son. None of God’s people died.

Moses announced each plague in advance. At first Pharaoh found ways to copy the plagues. He made up explanations for them. There came a day when Pharaoh could not deny the power of God. He never stopped opposing the Lord. It cost him his life.

God made a distinction between His people and those who hardened their hearts against Him!

The whole world is under the control of the evil one today. People harden their hearts against Jesus. The world system operates in opposition to the Lord. Our leaders find ways to explain away the miracles mercies and judgments of God.

Jesus makes a distinction between people who love and worship Him and those who live as if He does not exist. He has chosen us to be His special possession. He has chosen to set His heart and affection upon us!

When we are plagued with trials and troubles we can choose to harden our hearts or let Jesus soften them. We can become better servants or grow bitter as we pass through the refiner’s fire!

Almighty God will deliver judgment and devastation against those who are mighty in their own eyes. The prideful will be humbled. Evil will have its day for a season. It will not prosper for long!

The Son of Righteousness will arise with healing in His wings. He will be glorified. His people will be blessed!

Do not be deceived. People all around us pass into eternity every day. None of God’s people have perished. They are in the presence of the Lord. Will you join them?

God wants to lead you into the promised land of abundant living!

I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
And I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and I will give it to you as a heritage: I am the Lord. Exodus 6:7-8 NKJV

God sent Joseph and seventy people into Egypt during a time of famine. God gave them favor. They prospered and multiplied. Israel became a great nation of people.

In time the King of Egypt died. A new King was raised up. He dealt harshly with the Israelites. The children of Israel became slaves to the Egyptians. They lived in bondage for 400 years.

God sent Moses to lead the people out of Egypt. God was not just relocating them. He was not just giving them new leadership. God told the children of Israel He would be their God. They would be His people.

God delivered Israel from bondage with a mighty outstretched arm. The mightiest nation on earth could not oppose the Lord. The false gods of the Egyptians were powerless against Him. He showed Israel that He is the One True God!

God is speaking to us today. He can deliver us from bondage and unbelief. He loves us. He will never leave us nor forsake us. He will be with us when we pass through the dangers of life.

The Lord will deliver us with His mighty outstretched arm. No useless idol or false god can stop the great and mighty works Jesus wants to accomplish in us and through us!

Are you in bondage to fear or isolation? Are you struggling with drug or alcohol addiction? Maybe you have lost the joy of your salvation.

Do not live in unbelief!

Turn to Almighty God with your burdens. Make your needs known to Him. Come before your God today. Ask Him to show Himself mighty on your behalf!

If you do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior turn to Him today. He is waiting for you!

The Lord is speaking to you today. He is saying “I will take you as Mine, and I will be your God.” Then you will know that I am the Lord your God who brings you out from under the burden of sin and unbelief!

“For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Let God deliver you into the promised land of abundant living. You will be blessed!

And God said to Moses, “I Am Who I Am.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, “I am has sent me to you.” Exodus 3:14 NKJV

The children of Israel lived in bondage for 400 years. The Egyptians used and abused them to support their lavish lifestyle.

Moses was a Hebrew. He was raised as a prince of Egypt. God told Moses to lead Israel out of bondage into a land flowing with milk and honey. Moses asked God, “Who am I that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” God answered, “I will certainly be with you.”

People are living in bondage today. Some are in bondage to drugs and alcohol. Some are enslaved by false religion and legalism. Millions of people live in hopelessness and despair. There are many forms of bondage. Much of it is self-imposed.

It does not matter to God how a person becomes a slave to sin. He wants to bring people out of bondage. Jesus wants deliver people from hopelessness and despair!

Moses lived with and identified with the oppressors. God revealed to Moses that he was a Hebrew not an Egyptian. Moses chose to live among God’s people rather than live with the Egyptians as a prince.

Has God revealed Himself to you? Have you chosen to live among the people of God? Have you walked away from the temporary pleasures of sin?

God wants to use you to set His people free today. You may be thinking, “Who am I that I should serve Jesus.” You belong to your Father in heaven. God created you in His image and likeness.

You are unique and special. There is no one like you in all of creation. God knows there are people only you can reach. He is not asking you to be their savior. He is not asking you to rescue them. God wants to use you to rescue them!

Jesus is sending you to His people. He may send you to share the gospel with your co-worker. He may send you to speak to your neighbor. He may send you to a foreign nation. Jesus has chosen you to set people free from bondage to unbelief!

The Promised Land was not special because it flowed with milk and honey. It was special because it was the place where God chose to dwell among His people. God wants all people to dwell in the promised land of intimate relationship with Him.

Wherever God sends you, whomever He sends you to, you will not be alone. Jesus will certainly be with you!

Go and make disciples for Jesus wherever the Lord sends you!

You are the reason for the season!

For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him. Isaiah 64:4 NKJV

Christmas has become commercialized and secularized. The words, “Jesus is the reason for the season” are a reminder of why we celebrate Christ-mas. It is a great saying. Many of us are very fond of it. The truth is you are the reason for the season!

Jesus did not just come to fulfill prophecy. He did not come just to experience the human condition. He came to reveal the Father’s love to us. He came to redeem us from sin and death. Jesus came to restore us to our rightful place within His Kingdom!

Jesus came to the earth to lavish His love upon us! God created us to extend and enlarge the loving relationship He existed in since before time began! He wants us to receive the unconditional eternal love only He can give us!

My son lived outside of the love and protection of his family for several years. It was a dark and fearful life. Time after time we offered to bring him home so we could lavish our love and care upon him.

My son refused to come back to the people who love him and want the best for him. He did not return even though there is no place where he is more dearly loved. We waited in faith for the day of his return so we could lavish our love upon him!

There are many people who refuse the Father’s love. They have chosen to live outside of His love and protection. Many of them live dark and fearful lives. God is waiting for their return so He can lavish His love and care upon them!

There is only one True and Living God! No idol, false religion or belief system has ever been revealed the way Jesus has! He was born of a virgin. He walked among us. He lived a sinless life. He offered His life up as a sacrifice for our sin.

God the Father raised Jesus from the grave as evidence of His divinity. He sits at the right hand of the Father praying for us today. He sits at the right hand of the Father waiting for men women and children to return to Him in faith!

Jesus is active in the world today. He works on behalf of people who trust Him with their lives. He reveals His great love by helping people who wait for Him in faith!

My beloved son returned. This will be our first opportunity to celebrate Christmas with him in four years. It will be a celebration of love and hope. We will celebrate our love for each other and the hope we have in Jesus!

There is no other way to receive God’s free gifts of unconditional love and eternal life but through faith in Jesus. He is actively working on your behalf today. Wait for Him in faith!

Celebrate Jesus’ birth. Celebrate His love. Celebrate the hope you have in Jesus!

God sent a baby to reveal the power of His love!

12/22/2017

For unto us a child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. Isaiah 9:6-7 NKJV

Isaiah prophesied a wonderful gift to mankind wrapped in the body of a baby.

He is Jesus Christ the eternal Son of God. He is the Messiah the supernatural counselor. He brought with Him the words of eternal life. When He comes again He will rule with perfect wisdom.

In the fullness of time God sent His Son to be a perfect spotless sacrifice for us. The wisdom of man was made foolish. The strength of the mighty was broken!

A baby saving the world goes against every instinct and inclination of man’s collective heart. We value strength. God honors humility. The strong have always ruled over the weak. God gives grace to the humble and opposes the proud.

Men have been fueled by anger and hatred since the beginning of time. God is motivated by love!

Men of murder and violence have caused women children and captives to kneel before them throughout time. In the kingdom of God nothing could be more righteous and just than men of wisdom offering gifts and a sacrifice of worship to a baby.

At just the right time in His-story Jesus will return!

The train of His robe will fill the earth with peace. He will sit upon the throne of creation. His judgment will be final. His justice will prevail. His kingdom will never end. God will accomplish this. Man will have no part in it!

Why did Jesus come as a baby meek and mild? Maybe it so we would realize how helpless we are. Maybe it helps us understand how foolish we are. Maybe we need an image of Jesus we can easily love and adore.

An image of the Lord that reveals His holiness power and wisdom would be too frightening for us!

Jesus has the power to transform hearts and lives! One day His wrath poured out in perfect love will transform creation!

God loves you. See Him for who He really is. Jesus is the God of love and grace. Jesus is the perfect gift given just for you at just the perfect time in His-story!

Immanuel came so we can love God and the people close to us!

“And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
Now when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” But after that no one dared question Him. Mark 12:33-34 NKJV

A Pharisee asked Jesus, “Which is the first commandment of all.” He did not ask the question because he was curious. He did not ask because he wanted to please God. He hoped Jesus would say something the legalists could use against the Lord.

The Pharisee was a product of the religious system that placed a heavy yoke on common people. They followed the tradition of the elders and demanded the same from others. They were pious to the last title and jot of the law but abandoned relationship with God.

Jesus did not condemn the Pharisee for being a religious zealot. Jesus encouraged him by declaring, “You are not far from the kingdom of God”, why? The Pharisee knew that loving God and the people near us pleases Jesus more than sacrifices and offerings!

The law Jesus wants us to follow is the law of love!

We were created to love God and each other. We were not created to read the bible or go to church. We were not created to teach and preach. We were created to be extensions of God’s love. We only benefit from those things if they help us grow in love!

There may be people you feel you cannot love. There may be people you need to love from a distance. Maybe people find it difficult to love you. Nothing is impossible with God! Jesus would never give us a command we cannot obey!

Sin separated us from God. Sin divides people into tribes, nations and political systems. Sin separates spouses and divides families. Sin crosses cultural and economic lines to breed hatred envy and strife in every place where people gather.

Christmas is a season of love and celebration with friends and family. If we believe Jesus is the reason for the season we should focus on why He came. Jesus came to break us free from bondage to sin!

Do not question God’s greatest commandment. Obey it through faith in the Faithful One. Follow the path of love. Obey the law of love. Let Jesus love people through you!

Love God with all of your heart mind soul and strength. Love your neighbor as much as you love yourself. The kingdom of God belongs to people who seek Him with the mind of a child and obey Him like a faithful Son!

This is the season of giving and receiving. Receive God’s love as a favored child. Obey Jesus like a faithful son.

Share God’s love with the people near you this Christmas season!

God is pronouncing a blessing upon you today!

Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the Earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." Genesis 1:26 NKJV

When God created Adam and Eve He blessed them. He created them with the capacity to love and be loved. He created them to join the loving relationship He existed in since before time. God wanted them to have children and love them as much as He does.

God created us with the freedom to choose. He also created angels with the freedom to choose. One of God's most beautiful angels became jealous of Him. He wanted the power and authority that belongs to God. He wanted the worship only God is worthy to receive.

Satan convinced Adam and Eve God was a liar. He made them believe God was withholding something good from them. They chose to live outside of God's love and protection.

Adam and Eve sinned. A curse was pronounced. They did not live fruitful lives. They ended in death. They did not rule over the Earth. Sin and death ruled over them.

God sent His Son wrapped in the body of a baby. It was the first Christmas gift. God sent Jesus to restore our freedom of choice.

"For there is born to you this day in the City of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord, "And this will be a sign to you. You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manager." And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God saying: "Glory to God in the highest, And on Earth peace, goodwill toward men!"

Today God is pronouncing a blessing on you!

Jesus came so you could receive His love and love Him. He came so you could share His love with other people. Jesus came so you can be fruitful today!

Jesus is saying; "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

I have spent many years laboring to keep my head up as my world spun out of control. I was heavy laden with burdens trials and troubles. What has changed? Has my life become a fairy tale of luxury and leisure? No it has not!

I answered the Lord's call. Have you? I choose to live with an eternal perspective. Will you? I choose to live under God’s hand of love and protection today. Do you?

God loves you so much He sent Jesus to bring you back into His love and protection. Jesus loves the Father so much He came to the earth as a baby. Jesus surrendered His life at the cross so you can choose whom you will serve today. Choose wisely! Choose Jesus!

The God of the miraculous wants you to turn aside from your busy life!

12/19/2017

Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.” Exodus 3:3 NKJV

Moses lived in a desert wilderness. He was a shepherd. His living conditions were primitive and unforgiving. In the desert death and danger are as constant as the heat. Moses saw something that should have frightened him. He decided to get a closer look.

It was the location of the burning bush that moved Moses to investigate. The local priest was his father in law. He knew about the “mountain where God lives.” The burning bush was a miraculous sight. Moses was more curious about the God who commanded the miracle.

God revealed His plan to use Moses to set Israel free from bondage. Moses asked “why me?” God overcame Moses’ objections. Then Moses asked a question that determines the eternal destination of everyone everywhere. Moses asked God “who are You?”

The God of the miraculous wants you to turn aside from the hustle and bustle of life. He wants you to be strong and courageous. Jesus wants you to follow Him on your sojourn through a world full of distractions!

God did not want Moses to go before mighty Pharoah in his own strength and wisdom. He did not want Moses to believe he was qualified to deliver his people.

The Lord wanted Moses to know he was fully dependent on God to deliver Israel. He wanted Moses to know the God of the miraculous would be with him. He wanted Moses to be confident God would use him to accomplish His purpose!

Moses was raised among people who worshiped many gods. When he realized he was standing before the One True God Moses asked the Lord His name. He wanted to know the God who commands the miraculous and chooses humble people to serve Him!

Do you want to know God?

Turn to Jesus with your questions. He has the answers you seek. He wants you to know Him today!

Jesus wants you to humble yourself before Him today. He wants to use you to set people free from bondage to unbelief!

Do not trust in your own strength and wisdom. The God of the miraculous is with you when you step out in faith. Follow as closely to Jesus as you can. Lean on and into Jesus!

Turn aside and see the great miracles the One True God is performing today!

God raised you up for just such a time as this!

For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this? Esther 4:14 NKJV

The King of Persia deposed his wife. He made a Jewish girl named Esther his queen. A plot was hatched to kill all of the Jewish people in the kingdom. God used Esther to deliver His people from destruction.

The command of God to be Holy is for all of His people. The instructions for living a life of Godliness are for all Christians. God’s promises of blessing, protection and provision are for all people who call on the name of the Lord!

God could have delivered His people anyway He chose. He chose to use Esther. The Lord chose to place her in a position of authority and influence at a very specific time in history. He did it for a very specific purpose!

The command to walk worthy of the calling for which you were called is for all of God’s people. The great commission is a command to men women and young people as well.

The Lord raised you up at a specific time in history for a very specific purpose!

Be ready to give an answer for the hope that lies within you. Be strong and courageous enough to speak up for Jesus!

When you speak to your neighbor God will be with you. If you speak to the people in a neighboring country the Lord will be with you. Jesus will give you the words to speak when you need them.

The Spirit of God will be with you when you serve Jesus. That is the purpose for which God raised you up at this specific time in His-story!

You could be a secret agent Christian and remain silent. But who knows whether God has brought you into His Kingdom to deliver many people to Jesus!

The Lord can save anyone anyway anytime. Do not miss out on the blessing. Let Jesus use you to deliver people from bondage to unbelief!

Joyfor2day daily devotional goes out over the internet to thousands of people all over the world five days a week

Jesus can use you to shake the foundations of the prison and set people free!

Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out that very hour. Acts 16:16-18 NKJV

The slave girl was speaking the truth. She was possessed by an evil spirit. The evil spirit was drawing people away from Christ!

This attack came as God’s servants went to prayer. The enemy of our souls attacks when we step out in faith. Satan seeks to distract us. He wants us to focus our attention on things other than Jesus.

The devil perverts the truth. He uses it against us. No one can serve two masters. This girl was speaking the truth about Paul and his companions while practicing witchcraft. When people claim to speak for God we must consider how they live.

The girl followed the disciples for several days before they cast the demon out of her. It is important for us to wait on the Lord before stepping out in faith. The bible tells us Paul was greatly annoyed by this girl. Paul was not fearful. The Lord was with Him!

Paul and Silas were put in jail. The owners of the slave girl were angry at the loss of income when the demon was cast out of her. While Paul and Silas were in jail they shared the gospel with the jailer. His entire household was saved.

God uses Satan’s attacks for His glory and our salvation!

Satan is a real being. He takes people captive to do his will. There really are demons who seek to destroy God’s people and bring destruction to our world.

We have nothing to fear from the devil or his demons when we live according to God’s will. We have nothing to fear from anyone or anything when we step out in faith to serve Jesus!

Jesus wants us to fear Him and Him alone. He wants us to know His power and authority are unequaled in all of creation.

God wants you share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the people in your life. Jesus wants you to walk in great boldness because He is with you everywhere you go!

Jesus can use you to shake the foundations of the prison and set people free!
