Let go and let Jesus use you to sing His praises to the world!

Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples. Psalm 96 NKJV

Jesus loves you. He wants you to love Him!

God has feelings and emotions. The Lord has a personality. He is a personal God. Jesus wants to have a personal relationship with you. He wants to interact with you daily.

Here is what is in my heart today. Jesus put it there so I could share it with you.

We can sing a new song to the Lord. It can be a love song. We can bless the Lord when we sing our love song to Him. With our love song we can declare the good news of Jesus Christ to the world.

We can declare God’s glory to the world. We can declare His wonders to the people in our world. We can proclaim that Jesus lives. We can proclaim His great love for us. We can tell people Jesus is at the right hand of the Father praying for us today!

We can live the abundant life of blessing and prosperity God created us to enjoy by turning to faith in Jesus Christ!

Our love song to God must be sung in our hearts before we sing it out loud to the world.

Sing your love song to Almighty God by turning to Jesus Christ in faith. Proclaim His goodness and mercy in your life. Proclaim His glory and the goodness of His salvation. Proclaim the great wonders Jesus has done in your life!

Let the truth of God’s great love impact you in a new way. Practice your new love song to Jesus in your heart. Ask God to send you out to sing your love song before the people in your world!

Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; Let the sea roar, and all its fullness; Let the field be joyful and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the Lord. For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, And the peoples with His truth. Vs 11-13

When Jesus returns He will judge the proud in heart. His justice will be swift and final. God will also judge people whose hearts are filled with love and praise for Him. Our fate will be to spend eternity singing a new song in the beauty and perfection of His holiness!

Sing your new song of faith and praise to Jesus. If you do not sing a song of faith to the Lord who will? God can raise up birds, tress and stones to praise Jesus. He can show His glory in the heavens right now. But it is our job to give Jesus glory praise and honor!

Let go and let God use you to sing His praises today!

The mightiest works of God are seen in the lives of the people He saves!

Give to the Lord the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come into His courts.  Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth.
Psalm 96:8-9 NKJV

How can we give Jesus the glory due His Holy Name? We can give glory to Jesus by loving Him. We can give glory to Jesus by living in obedience to Him!

There is nothing we can do that will benefit God. Nothing we can do will extend His power or authority. There is nothing we can do that will exalt Jesus or cause Him to be lifted-up any higher than He already is.

Jesus can do great and mighty things in us and through us when we walk in obedience to Him. We can offer ourselves to Jesus in love. The Lord wants to do great and mighty things with our lives today.

Jesus wants to use us to save other people. Jesus wants to use us to transform other people’s lives. Jesus wants to use us to set people free. He wants to use us to restore broken hearts.

Relationship is what is matters most to God. The greatest act of God is bringing people to salvation. The mightiest works of God are seen in the lives of the people He loves!

Jesus does not need our help to restore broken lives and relationships. He does allow us to participate in His work. We can give glory to God by living for Him!

I was praying. The Lord said; “Abide in Me.” God wants us to rest in Him. He wants us to partake of His Spirit. Jesus is calling us to join Him in everything He does today!

The offering God desires is our lives. He is not asking us to give Him anything other than all we can give. Jesus wants us to live for Him today. That might seem scary sometimes.

If I live for God who knows what He might require of me. He might ask me to do something scary or dangerous. He might ask me to sacrifice everything I have ever dreamed of.

Jesus does not want to take anything from you. He wants to give you incorruptible blessings that can never be taken away.

Jesus wants you to worship Him in the beauty of His holiness throughout eternity. Jesus wants you to know the indescribable joy of worshiping Him in Spirit and truth forever!

Live in obedience to Jesus so you can bring glory and honor to God today. Worship Jesus in the beauty of His holiness forever!

Trust the Lord of Heaven and Earth with your fears dreams and desires. Trust Jesus so you can give Him the glory due His Holy Name Forever!

Jesus wants you to return the love and affection He pours out on you!

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.
For the Lord is the great God, And the great King above all gods. In His hand are the deep places of the earth; The heights of the hills are His also. The sea is His, for He made it; And His hands formed the dry land. Psalm 95 NKJV

There is no better reason to worship God than His authority over creation. His power is beyond measure. His glory is beyond comprehension. Jesus is worthy of our praise and worship. He desires our love and affection. Jesus loves us unconditionally!

Jesus wants us to sing to Him. The Father wants calls us to shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. He wants us to come before Him in thanksgiving. There is sublime beauty in praise that blesses the worshiper as much as the object of our worship!

In ancient times people worshiped many gods. Today people worship false gods without identifying them as such. The sin is just as great. The idols are just as worthless!

“Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, as in the day of trial in the wilderness, When your fathers tested me; They tried Me though they saw My work. For forty years I was grieved with that generation, And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts, And they do not know My ways.’ So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ” Vs 8-11

The people God led out of Egypt rebelled against Him. They tested Him even though He revealed His power over the false god’s of the Egyptians. They went astray in their hearts because they never learned His ways. God was grieved by them. He did not let them enter into His rest in the land of promise.

Jesus is leading people out of bondage today. Jesus takes pleasure in revealing His power over the false God’s and idols of our generation. Jesus is warning us not to test Him. He is doing it out of love and affection for us.

Do not grieve the Lord. Do not go astray in your heart. Learn God’s ways. Enter into the Lord’s rest in the eternal land of promise!

Sing out loud to the Lord. Shout joyfully to the rock of your salvation. Come before Him with thanksgiving. Stay true to Jesus in your heart. Our Lord is the great God, And the great King above all false god’s and idols!

Jesus wants you to return the love and affection He pours out on you!

Fill your soul with the mercy and comforts of God!

O, Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs-God, to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth! Rise up, O judge of the earth; Render punishment to the proud. Lord, how long will the wicked, How long will the wicked triumph? Psalm 94 NKJV

God is the refuge of the righteous.

The psalmist calls for justice, complains of the tyranny of the wicked and their lack of respect for God. Many of the Psalms are pleas for protection justice and vengeance. It has taken me ninety-four chapter to gain some understanding of why.

The evil deeds of the wicked afflicted God’s people. The Psalmists struggled with the desire to take vengeance against their enemies.

I struggle with the same desires. I have seen evil people abuse and exploit people I love. I have seen the ungodly go unpunished for harming innocent people. I confess that I have committed murder in my heart, have you?

It is perplexing and amazing that a book so full of praise prayer and thanksgiving also gives us the imprecatory psalms. They were written to call down curses and pray for vengeance. The same heart so filled with the love of God can also contain hatred!

These prayers for vengeance against their enemies represent the psalmist’s repentance. They sought refuge from their sin in the arms of the Lord!

Blessed is the man whom you instruct, O Lord, And teach out of Your law, That You may give him rest from the days of his adversity, until the pit is dug for the wicked. For the Lord will not cast off His people, Nor will He forsake His inheritance, But judgment will return to righteousness, And all the upright in heart will follow it. Vs 12-15

God does not leave the redeemed in sin. He teaches us through His Word. The Word of God is where we find peace in a fallen world.

There will come a day when evil people who afflict others and do not repent will be held accountable for their sin. They will not dwell in the presence of the Lord with God’s people. They will not spend eternity basking in the Sonlight of pure love and righteousness!

Who will rise up for me against the evil doers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul would have settled in silence. If I say, “My foot slips,” Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up. In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul. Vs 16-19

These verses raise questions we should ask ourselves when we are overcome with anger and the desire for vengeance. Will we trust Jesus or turn to the arm of flesh?

Cry out to the Lord when your anxieties and anger overwhelm you. Fill your soul with the mercy and comforts of God. Vengeance belongs to the Lord. He will not be denied. Sin and wickedness will not prevail. The God of the bible will never fail!

Sin has a tight grip on the world but Jesus is the king of creation!

The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The Lord is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength. Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved. Your throne is established from of old, You are from everlasting. Psalm 93 NKJV

This psalm declares the power and majesty of God and anticipates the millennial reign of Messiah!

Sin is blossoming upon the earth. Soon it will be in full bloom. The God of majesty and glory has not stepped down from His throne. His hand of authority has not been withdrawn. He will never leave us to fend for ourselves!

Jesus is covered in majesty and glory. His power is immeasurable. He keeps the earth sun and moon in their places. He knows no beginning. He will have no end. He is, was, and will always be The One True and Living God!

The floods have lifted up, O Lord, The floods have lifted up their voice; The floods lift up their waves. The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, Than the mighty waves of the sea. V2-3

My life has been flooded with sin pain and heartache. Maybe yours has as well. There are times when the tidal waves of trials and hardship are more than I can endure. They roll in one after the other with no end in sight.

Sometimes I feel like the waters of pain and heartache will overtake me and I will drown beneath them. I do not. God is mightier than trials and heartache. His grace is greater than sin and pain. His love is stronger than the crashing waves of the seas!

God does not send the torrential trials that rain down on us. He does allow the downpours that lead to desperation. We can ride above the tide of sorrows like a surfer riding mighty waves. God uses sorrow and heartache to strengthen us!

Your testimonies are very sure; Holiness adorns Your house, O Lord forever. Vs 5

I invest much of my time writing these messages. I do it because the Word of God is true and sure!

For the sake of your eternal destiny and the people you love read the bible continuously. Do what it tells you to do. Do not do the things it tells you not to do.

When you discover that you cannot be faithfully obedient the Word of God do not lose hope, do not give up and do not give out.

Do what you can with what you have right where you are for the glory of God. Trust Jesus to do what you cannot!

Sin has a tight grip on the world but Jesus is the king of creation! Is He your king?

A heart of thanksgiving and praise for God is full whole and holy!

11/23/2018

It is good to give thanks to the Lord, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; To declare Your loving-kindness in the morning, And Your faithfulness every night, Psalm 92 NKJV

The psalmist exhorts people to praise God for His love and faithfulness.

As I was praying and praising God Jesus spoke to me. I did not hear His voice with my ears. It was a thought out of place with my own that I heard with my heart. The Lord of creation called me His friend!

Does praising God from a heart of thankfulness for His loving-kindness and faithfulness make us His friend? Does being a friend of God move us to praise Him for His loving-kindness and faithfulness? The answer to both questions is a resounding yes!

Intimacy with Jesus can erupt into praise and thanksgiving anytime. Our praise and worship can be spontaneous. It can also be planned and rehearsed.

There are two aspects of thanksgiving and praise I consider miraculous. The first is the impact it has on us. The second is the impact it has on God.

Jesus created us to live in intimate relationship with Him. Do not let that truth stray far from the forefront of your thinking. Let it echo through the chambers of your heart!

A heart filled with thanksgiving and praise for the one who loves us unconditionally is a full whole and holy heart. It is full because it contains the greatest of God’s gifts, love. It is whole because it is filled with the goodness of God. It is holy because Jesus dwells within it.

Jesus inhabits the praise of His people. It moves Jesus closer to His beloved. Jesus inclines His ear to our voices because they give off a sweet smelling aroma to Him!

Jesus longs to receive our love and devotion. Our thankfulness warms His heart.

The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing, To declare that the Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. Vs 12-15

People who receive God’s love with joy and thanksgiving grow strong and straight. They are seated in heavenly places with God. Old age does not prevent them from serving Jesus and declaring His faithfulness to a hurting world.

Are you a friend of God? If not, you can be. Jesus can fill your empty heart with His love. Jesus can mend your broken heart and make it whole. Jesus can set you apart for His glory and honor.

Bless God today. Lift-up the Name of Jesus with your love and adoration!

Don’t just give thanks today, cultivate an attitude of gratitude every day!

We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks! For Your wondrous works declare Your name is near! Psalm 75 NKJV

I heard a man say; “Leadership is establishing reality and giving hope.” I am thankful Jesus does just that. What is reality? What do we have to be hopeful for?

But I will declare forever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. Vs 9

I am thankful we can join with Jesus to establish reality and give other people hope!

Eleven years ago Jesus began ministering to me in a new way.

The Word of God filled my heart and mind. It was as if someone was preaching to me through my own thoughts. Jesus was feeding me with the truth of His Word. Jesus gave me hope during a season of heartache and pain. My life has never been the same!

I started sharing the things Jesus put in my heart with other people. Feeding my mind with the Word of God keeps my mind focused on reality. Sharing the Word of God with other people gives me hope!

Sharing our faith with other people strengthens and builds up our faith. Sharing the hope we have in Jesus with others helps us stay rooted and grounded in the reality that Jesus Christ is our hope!

“All the horns of the wicked I will cut off, But the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.” Vs 10

The world is full of evil and injustice. When we take vengeance into our own hands we make matters worse. Jesus Christ is the hope and promise of a world where justice and righteousness will prevail. I am thankful for that reality!

I was broken when I started writing these messages. I did not wait for a sign from God. I did not wait for my finances to improve. I did not wait for my life to become a model of order and perfection. I stepped out in faith. I trusted the object of my faith because He is faithful!

Have you been transformed by the reality of God’s love? Do you find hope in Jesus to keep moving forward through dark times? Give thanks to the God of reality. Share the wondrous works Jesus does in your life with people who need hope.

Evil people will stand before Jesus in judgment. People who love Him today will bask in the light of His love throughout eternity. Will you stand before the Lord in judgment or worship at His feet in eternity?

Be thankful that Jesus gives you the freedom to choose where you will spend eternity. Be thankful that Jesus give you the freedom to choose who you will spend eternity with. Be thankful Jesus gives you the freedom to choose what you will spend eternity doing.

Be thankful that Jesus gives you the freedom strength and wisdom to choose wisely!

If you call upon the Jesus He will answer!

11/21/2018

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation. Psalm 91:14-16 NKJV

For many people Psalm 91 is a favorite portion of scripture. It tells of the blessing and protection of abiding in the presence of God. I find comfort in the reason God promises to protect us even when people all around us suffer calamity and devastation.

Why does God say setting our love upon Him is the reason He protects us while thousands of people fall around us? Jesus created us to be loved by Him as only He can love us. Jesus created us to love Him as only we can love Him!

Jesus promises to set on high people who know His name. In warfare high ground is a place of safety. It offers a tactical advantage. We will be lifted on High into the Lord’s presence. Living in the presence of Jesus offers us an advantage nothing else can.

I am comforted by the reason God promises to deliver us and set us on high. It is because we know His name. In ancient times a person’s name described his or her character.

Jesus has the power to answer when we call. He promises to be with us and deliver us when we are in trouble. Only Jesus can keep such a promise. Jesus can keep His promises because His name is Faithful and True!

God the Father honors people who honor Jesus. Will you honor Jesus today? Will you honor Him in the way you treat other people? Will you honor Jesus in the way you live?

God promises to honor you if you set your love upon Jesus. He promises to honor you with long life. Can God keep that promise? I do not know if your years will be long upon the Earth. I do know the time you spend in His presence will never end!

Jesus will bestow honor upon you by using you to bring people out of the bondage of unbelief into the promised land of abundant living!

Have you set your love upon the Lord? Do you know His name? Have you received His salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ? If not don’t wait. Call out to the Lord today. Turn to faith in Jesus Christ today!

Let the Lord deliver you. Let Him set you on high. Let Him honor you and satisfy you with long life.

Let Jesus show you His salvation today!

Let Almighty God love you today and everyday!

Thank God for the trials that are perfecting your faith in Jesus!

Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. Psalm 91:9-10 NKJV

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him my salvation. Vs 14-16

My wife reads this portion of scripture during difficult times. It encourages her.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Vs 1

You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. Vs 5

A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. Vs 7

My favorite part is when God tells us why He will protect us from harm. God promises to protect people who set their love upon Him. He promises to protect people who know His name. God’s names describe His character. The Lord wants you to know His name.

God is righteous and holy. He is perfect in all His ways. His Word is true. He is true to His Word. When the Most High makes a promise He keeps it!

If you set your love upon Jesus you can call upon Him anytime of the day or night. Jesus will answer you when you are in trouble. Jesus will deliver you and honor you. Jesus shows His salvation to people who know Him!

One of the most repeated commands in the bible is wait on the Lord. Dwell in the secret place of the Almighty while you wait for Him.

Abide under the shadow of God’s faithfulness. Do not be afraid of the terror of life in a dark world. Do not fear the arrows slung at you by the devil, nor the pestilence of a fallen creation, nor the destruction that comes swiftly and suddenly on planet earth.

Jesus is with you in trouble. He will not leave you. He will bring you safely through this life into the beauty of His holiness in eternity!

Show Jesus that you trust Him. Show Jesus that you adore Him even during times of trial and hardship.

Thank God for the trials that are perfecting your faith in Jesus!

Do not get so busy in ministry you won’t allow Jesus to minister to you!

11/19/2018

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust. Psalm 91:1-2 NKJV

My father was an outdoorsman. He loved traveling. He went scuba diving in the Honduras. He surfed in Hawaii. He learned to play tennis in Australia. He bought his first camera in Hong Kong.

My father never went to Africa. We arranged for him to have his picture taken with an African elephant. My father was frail and weak. He was in a wheel chair. We placed him under a bull elephant.

Dad enjoyed his time in the shadow of Butch the African Elephant. We took a picture of him there. It is one of my favorite pictures of my father. I see it as an example of abiding under the shadow of the Almighty!

We are frail and weak. Jesus gives us a place where we can rest in safety. It is in His mighty presence. It is under the covering of His love and blessing. It is under His authority that we experience peace and protection.

The elephant handler put a carrot in my father’s pocket. Butch searched for it with his trunk. He was otherwise uninterested in my father.

Jesus is infinitely more powerful than any creature. He does not look for what he can receive from us. Jesus does not necessarily look to give us things. He looks for ways to bless us. The greatest blessing is to be in Jesus’ presence.

You do not have to wait to experience God’s presence. Jesus wants you to experience the joy that comes from spending time with Him today.

We can become so busy doing the work of ministry we do not allow Jesus to minister to us.

You may be doing your best to serve God but something is missing. You have allowed your busy schedule to interfere with what God wants the most. He wants to spend time with you.

Jesus is waiting to show you how much He loves you!

Satan is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. If we turn to Jesus in our time of trial and testing, if we will make Him our place of safety, our refuge and fortress, He will protect us!

Take time out from your busy schedule to spend time with Jesus today. Turn to the Lord with whatever is on your heart today. Allow Jesus to minister to you today.

Ask Jesus to break down barriers that separate you from the sweetness of His love!

Joyfor2day daily devotional goes out over the internet to thousands of people all over the world five days a week

Jesus can use you to shake the foundations of the prison and set people free!

Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out that very hour. Acts 16:16-18 NKJV

The slave girl was speaking the truth. She was possessed by an evil spirit. The evil spirit was drawing people away from Christ!

This attack came as God’s servants went to prayer. The enemy of our souls attacks when we step out in faith. Satan seeks to distract us. He wants us to focus our attention on things other than Jesus.

The devil perverts the truth. He uses it against us. No one can serve two masters. This girl was speaking the truth about Paul and his companions while practicing witchcraft. When people claim to speak for God we must consider how they live.

The girl followed the disciples for several days before they cast the demon out of her. It is important for us to wait on the Lord before stepping out in faith. The bible tells us Paul was greatly annoyed by this girl. Paul was not fearful. The Lord was with Him!

Paul and Silas were put in jail. The owners of the slave girl were angry at the loss of income when the demon was cast out of her. While Paul and Silas were in jail they shared the gospel with the jailer. His entire household was saved.

God uses Satan’s attacks for His glory and our salvation!

Satan is a real being. He takes people captive to do his will. There really are demons who seek to destroy God’s people and bring destruction to our world.

We have nothing to fear from the devil or his demons when we live according to God’s will. We have nothing to fear from anyone or anything when we step out in faith to serve Jesus!

Jesus wants us to fear Him and Him alone. He wants us to know His power and authority are unequaled in all of creation.

God wants you share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the people in your life. Jesus wants you to walk in great boldness because He is with you everywhere you go!

Jesus can use you to shake the foundations of the prison and set people free!
