Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”
And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to Him who thirsts.” Revelation 21:5-6 NKJV
They say you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make Him drink. That may be true but God can make him thirsty!
In a vision the Apostle John saw a new heaven and a new earth. He saw the New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And John heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.”
“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
God is going to return creation to its original state of perfection. There will be no more strife struggling or conflict in His Holy City. It will shine with the light of God’s love.
Jesus will gather His people together like a mother hen gathers her chicks. He will live among us and rule over us in a relationship of perfect love. We will see God with our eyes touch Him with our hands and hear His words with our ears!
Every remembrance of the sorrow struggle and sadness of this world will be wiped away. We will live forever without pain regret or turmoil. All things, including our bodies attitudes and perspectives will be made new!
The victory over sin and death was won when Jesus declared, “It is finished” and committed His Spirit into the Father’s hands. Our future was sealed when Jesus rose from the grave!
Water has been called the source of life. Jesus is the giver of life!
Jesus is the fountain of living water. He calls out to people whose souls and spirits are parched and dry. He calls out to people who need to be refreshed and renewed. He wants us to drink deep from the still waters of His love and peace!
Are you thirsty? Drink deep of the living water today!
His tomb is empty. Jesus is risen!
And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
Luke 23:43 NKJV
This verse reveals God’s heart. Jesus does not care what we have done. He wants all of us to spend eternity basking in the light of His love.
Jesus came to restore the sick and lame. He came to raise the dead in trespasses and sins to eternal life. He did not come so good people could feel better about themselves. He came so those of us humble enough to admit our sin could repent!
Jesus was beaten and insulted by the religious leaders as He was led to the cross. He was mocked by the Roman soldiers while He hung on it. He was crucified between two criminals. One of them spoke blasphemy against Jesus.
The women who followed Jesus wept for Him. Most of His disciples abandoned Him. In the shadow of Jesus’ death one of the criminals professed faith in the Son of God!
Everyone sins and falls short of God’s plan and purpose. There are no exceptions!
The religious leaders thought they could earn their way into heaven. The Roman soldiers put their trust in the arm of flesh. Jesus’ disciples did not yet see through eyes of faith.
The criminal who mocked Jesus and hurled insults at Him may have been venting his anger at his circumstances. He was influenced by the religious leaders and Roman soldiers. He chose to remain in sin rather than repent in faith!
The repentant criminal witnessed no miracles. He heard no preaching. Jesus offered Him nothing of earthly value or any creature comfort. Jesus fate seemed no better than his own.
The unnamed criminal took one of the greatest steps of faith in history. He defended Jesus. He confessed his sin. He called out in faith. What did he ask for? Eternal life with the Lord of Glory!
What did Jesus do? He forgave the criminal’s sin. Jesus promised a man who was guilty of such great sin he was being executed a place in His kingdom!
Do only bad people go to heaven. Are you one of them?
If you do not know the Lord stop following the crowd. Stop blaming God for your circumstances. Quit trusting in what you can do. Call out to Jesus today!
Unbelievers are not the only people who sin. We all suffer from the same condition. The season of our Saviors victory over sin and death is the perfect time to repent!
Take a step of faith. Look at your circumstances through eyes of faith. Confess your sin. Call out to Jesus. God loves you enough to reserve a place for you in His kingdom!
And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls. Joel 2:32 NKJV
God will pour out His Spirit on His sons and daughters, old men and young men. He will pour out His Spirit on those who serve other people. He will pour out His Spirit on the humble of heart. God will pour out His Spirit so the name of Jesus can be lifted up!
God is going to deliver people from bondage to unbelief. He is going to free people from bondage to sin. The people God created in His image and likeness are important to the Lord. He wants everyone to be saved because He loves us!
The Lord is going to bring revival in the days leading up to His return. He is going to snatch people out of the hands of the enemy!
We are going to be surprised at some of the people who get saved in the last days. We are going to be amazed at some of the people God uses to reach the lost, the lonely and the brokenhearted.
We are going to be astounded by the great and might works God is going to do in the lives of men and women who live by faith in Jesus Christ!
In the last days there will be many people who harden their hearts against the Lord. People will refuse to humble themselves before Jesus. Some will even lead others away from Christ. They will lead people into the bondage of unbelief and false religion.
The Lord is calling you to be a willing and useful vessel for His glory.
Pray for Jesus to spark revival in your heart. Ask Jesus to use you to lead people out of bondage into the promised land of eternal life. Ask Jesus to give you the boldness to share truth with the lost the lonely and the brokenhearted!
Ask Jesus to give you the humility to live in obedience to Him. Ask the Lord to open your spiritual eyes so you can see the open doors He sets before you. Ask Jesus to give you the compassion to reach out to people in love.
Ask Jesus to pour out His Spirit on you so you can serve Him with boldness!
God will use the humble of heart and poor in spirit to serve Him. He will raise up the most unlikely servants to declare Jesus to a lost world. He will open prison doors and send people who were in bondage to preach freedom in Christ. Will you be one of them?
These are the last days before Jesus returns. These things are happening right now. Are you serving Jesus? It is not to late!
Do what you can with what you have right where you are for the glory of God!
Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know. Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV
God used Jeremiah to call Israel to repentance. He wanted Israel to turn back to Him. God wanted them to love and obey Him. He wanted their lives to be fruitful. He wanted Israel to prosper in every way.
The Lord wanted to show the nations He is God in the heavens above and on the earth below. He wanted to use Israel to display His power and glory. God wanted to display His mercy, grace and forgiveness through Israel. He wanted to use Israel to show His loving-kindness.
The God of the bible never changes. He has the same desires today!
God is saying, call out to Me and I will answer you. I will show you wisdom and mercy beyond measure. I will show you what it is like to live your life for me. I will show you what it is like for me to form My life in you.
Jesus wants to show you what He can do with a surrendered life.
God wants you to speak for Him today.
The Lord wants to use you to call His people to repent and turn to Him. He wants His people to love and obey Him. He wants us to be fruitful and prosper. He wants the nations to know He is God in the heavens above and on the earth below!
God wants to use you to display His power and glory. He wants to use you to display His loving-kindness.
God’s mercy, grace and forgiveness are available to you through faith in Jesus Christ!
Call out to the Lord today!
Ask Jesus to give you a vision for serving His people. Ask Him to give you His heart to love His people. Call out to Jesus so you can speak the Word of God to His people!
Ask Jesus to show you His heart. He will answer by revealing how much He loves you!
Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for you. Jeremiah 32:17 NKJV
Jeremiah asked God for understanding. He praised the Lord for His goodness and mercy. Jeremiah praised God for His sovereignty and knowledge of future events.
God promised the children of Israel He would bring them out of Egypt. He did bring them out. God promised to lead them into a land they would posses as their own. He led them into a land flowing with milk and honey.
The Lord spoke to the nation of Israel through the prophet Jeremiah. God would send them into captivity again.
God told Jeremiah to buy property in a city under siege. The Lord told Jeremiah to buy land that would be conquered by a merciless enemy. Jeremiah obeyed God.
Has God ever given you a glimpse into your future? Maybe God put a desire in your heart. Maybe you have not yet seen the evidence of God fulfilling His promise. Do not lose heart!
The Lord keeps His promises. Every prophetic word of the Lord will be fulfilled!
The Lord said He would appoint me to speak for Him. He said I would be His witness and testify of Him. The Lord said I would share His message with the world. I believed God even though I did not think I was equipped to serve the Lord.
The Lord planted a seed that grew into a desire. I do not yet see the evidence of God’s promises. I must hold on to the promise of them!
What things has God spoken to you? What promises of God remain unfulfilled in your life?
The Lord will fulfill His promises to you. Hold on to them. Hold on to the promises that are for all people who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Hold onto the promises He made to you!
The Lord created you for eternal and divine purposes. He has a purpose and a plan for your life. It will come to pass just as God ordained it.
If you have made mistakes or lost your way, turn your heart back to Jesus. He is waiting for you. Return to your first love!
Good created the heavens and the earth. His power has not been limited. His arms have not been shortened. Nothing is too hard for our God!
Jeremiah declared the Word of God to the people of His generation. Jesus is calling you to declare the glory of God to the people of our generation. Will you answer His call?
The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving-kindness I have drawn you. Jeremiah 31:3 NKJV
God chose Israel to be His beloved. He chose them to be separate from the other nations of the world. God chose them to live with Him in a special loving relationship.
God’s desire from the beginning was to bless protect and provide for Israel. Israel turned away from the Lord. They chose to be like the surrounding nations. They chose to reject his love and protection.
God never gave up on the children of Israel. He judged them. He punished them. He did it to draw them back into His loving care and protection. He wanted to draw them back into a special relationship with His loving-kindness.
People who live by faith in Jesus Christ today are the people of God!
We are God’s chosen people. He wants us to be different than the people around us. God wants us to live under His blessing and protection. Jesus is drawing us into a special relationship with His loving-kindness today!
You shall be My people, And I will be your God. Jeremiah 30:22
When I was saved the Lord spoke to me. He said “My hand has always been upon you”. Jesus was at work in my life even before I surrendered my heart to Him.
I remembered times when I found myself in desperate circumstances. The years of isolation and loneliness came back to my memory. Jesus gave me what I needed when I needed it to believe He is God!
If you know the Lord it is because His hand has always been upon you. He called you by name so you could know His name!
The Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run to Him and they are saved. He is the Father of Lights. He is long-suffering. His mercy endures forever!
God is calling people out of the darkness of desperation and despair today. He is drawing people out of bondage to unbelief today.
The process of getting to know the Lord is not always an easy one. Many of us had to come to the end of our resources and strength before surrendering to Him.
Some of us had to suffer heartache loneliness and isolation before giving our hearts to Jesus. We had to be drawn by His loving-kindness.
Jesus has drawn you with His loving-Kindness so you could love Him. He called you by name so you can make His name known to other people.
Lift up the name of Jesus so He can draw others out of the darkness and despair of unbelief into the light of His loving-kindness!
And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 NKJV
God is speaking to Israel. He created them. He set Israel apart to be His special possession. The Lord chose Israel to live in a loving relationship with Him.
The people of Israel knew about God. Their lives revolved around religious traditions, laws, and customs. Their religious acts were not acceptable to the Lord.
God told Israel they needed to seek Him because they had not yet found Him. They did not know God because they had not sought Him in the secret places of their hearts.
What does it mean to seek God with all your heart? If I had a dollar for every time I spoke to someone and outwardly agreed with what they were saying while inwardly disagreeing I would be a rich man.
If I send out this message as an item on a list that must be completed to please God it is a waste of time. If I send it out to fulfill my selfish desires it is sin. If I send out this message because I love God and want to glorify Him I am blessed!
We will know Jesus intimately when we choose to know Him intimately!
God is after your heart because His greatest desire is for you to love Him with all your heart. In western civilization the heart is the center of a person. It is who we really are when all is stripped away.
God sees straight into our hearts. He knows what is hidden there.
What is in your heart today?
If your heart is not filled with love for Jesus do not feel guilty, sit in a corner or take a time out. Do not feel condemned. Ask Jesus to fill your heart with love for Him.
Loving Jesus begins with the desire to know Jesus. Anyone who truly knows Jesus will fall in love with Him.
The Lord created you in His image and likeness. He wants you to be set apart for Him. You are His special possession. Jesus wants you to live in a loving relationship with Him today!
If you seek Jesus with all your heart you will fall in love with Him. Seek Jesus with all you heart you will be blessed!
Am I a God near at hand, says the Lord, And not a God far off? Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see Him? Says the Lord; Do I not fill heaven and Earth? says the Lord. Jeremiah 23:23-24 NKJV
God speaks about false prophets who lead His people astray. He says “I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran. I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in My counsel, And had caused My people to hear My words, Then they would have turned them from their evil way and from the evil of their doings”.
God is against false prophets and evil shepherds because they harm to His people.
God tells His people He is not in a far off distant place. He is close enough to see everything. No one can hide from Him. He fills the heavens and the Earth. He wants His people to know He will hold them accountable for their choices and actions.
God holds the false prophets and evil shepherds accountable for leading the people astray. He holds the people to account for believing the lies of false prophets. He holds the people accountable for following false shepherds who abuse their authority.
The Lord is speaking to us today. He is not far away. He did not create the heavens and the Earth and go away somewhere. He did not create us and leave us to ourselves. He is with us. He sees everything we do. The Spirit of God fills the heavens and the Earth.
Nothing can exist apart from the Lord. He holds all things together. The Holy Spirit is everywhere people gather together in Jesus name!
God will hold the false prophets of our day accountable for the words they speak in His name. He will hold ungodly leaders to account for leading people astray today.
The Lord sent His people into captivity. His purpose was to draw them back into a loving relationship with Him!
Jesus wants to draw us into a deeper loving relationship with Him today!
The things we do in secret are not hidden from Jesus. He does not want us to be taken captive by sin. Jesus wants us to be free to enjoy the abundant life.
How can we live the abundant life? We can call upon the Lord to bring correction into our lives. We can ask Him not to leave us to ourselves. We can ask Him to expose false teachers. We can call upon Jesus to bring godly leaders into our lives.
Jesus is near enough to hear you when you call out to Him. He sees the good works you do in secret. Call out to the Lord today. Ask Him to give you the wisdom to discern the times we live in. Ask Jesus to send forth His word to cleanse hearts like a refiner’s fire!
Ask God to use you to lead His people into the promised land of abundant living!
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is in the Lord, For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17:7 NKJV
God calls people whose hearts depart from Him cursed. They will be like shrubs in the desert. They will not see good when it comes upon the land. They will inhabit parched places in the wilderness. They will live in an unfruitful uninhabited land.
God makes a distinction between people who trust Him and people who put trust in their own resources. God promises to bless people who fear Him and honor Him.
I was a real estate broker. When the market was hot I made a lot of money. My family and I lived an extravagant lifestyle. The market took a down turn. Our lifestyle did as well. Our resources dried up. Our spirits did not!
A short time later I was on my computer glorifying God. People all over the world started receiving these messages.
When we seek the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness before all other things we are blessed regardless of circumstances. God reveals the power of His anointing and blessing during seasons of trials and hardship.
People who trust Jesus and whose hope is the Lord have no fear in seasons of drought and famine!
If we trust Jesus will be blessed with prosperity of spirit. The Lord will produce fruits of faithfulness in our lives. We will be blessed because God is eternally faithful and true to His Word!
We will be like trees planted by rivers of living water. Living in a world scorched by sin and death will not make us fearful. We will not be fearful because our hope is in the Lord of Heaven and Earth.
We can have joy during times of economic decline. We can have hope in seasons of trial and hardship. Sin and death cannot defeat us as we journey through life in a fallen world if we build our lives on the solid rock of faith in Jesus Christ!
Our circumstances do not change God’s character. The blessings of God are eternal. They can never be taken from us. If you put your hope in Jesus you will be blessed in this life and throughout eternity!
The bible tells us a wise man looks to the end of the matter. You don’t look down at your feet when you walk. You look toward the direction you are walking.
If you are struggling through a season of hardship and trial take your eyes off your circumstances. Look ahead to the glory that awaits you when Jesus takes you home!
Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and covers a multitude of sins. James 5:19 NKJV
Is it worse to wander from the truth or place a stumbling block in the path of someone who has? Is it a bigger sin to wander from the truth or sit in self- righteous judgment of someone who wanders? Is it worse to sin or turn your back on someone who sins?
These questions completely miss the point just as many of us do every day!
The verses right before this one are about meeting specific needs. They tell us what to do when we suffer and when we are sick. They tell us what to do when we sin. They describe the incredible power and authority God gives us to pray!
God wants us to know we can help people turn back to Jesus. That does not happen when we make it harder for people to repent. It does not happen when we judge people as if we are better than them. It doesn’t happen when we walk away from people!
Our words and actions carry the power of life and death. We can speak blessings or curses. We can pray or lash out. We can accept or reject people with our hands and feet. We can embrace and carry people or we can walk away and discard them.
God’s love compels us to love Him. God’s love draws us to Him. Jesus expresses and reveals His love through other people!
There are times when we need to speak the truth to people who sin. It must be done in love. It must be done to draw people back to Jesus!
If you have wandered from the truth turn your heart back to God. Jesus is waiting for you with His loving arms wide open. He will not condemn you. He will receive you with joy and thanksgiving!
If you know someone who has wandered. Speak the truth to them in love. Tell them Jesus never stopped loving them. Tell them they have the power to turn from sin!
There are always consequences for sin but God will be with us as we walk out our repentance.
Everyone makes mistakes. They are part of living in a fallen world in fallen bodies. That is not an excuse for sin. It is encouragement to turn back to the one who took your sin upon Himself.
Turn a sinner from the error of His or her way. If you have a need ask someone to pray for you. If you know someone with needs prayer don’t wait. Pray right now!
Turn a wandering soul back to the truth. Turn to Jesus. He covers every sin under the sun!
