Allow Jesus to burn up and shake loose anything that keeps you from serving Him!

For our God is consuming fire. Hebrews 12:29 NKJV

Jesus wants to be the center of our lives. Jesus wants our lives to be consumed by Him. God will shake the Heavens and Earth so only things that cannot be shaken remain. What is it that cannot be shaken? The kingdom of our God can never be shaken!

We can set out on our own agenda thinking we can do something for Jesus if we try hard enough. We may believe Jesus will use us if we are faithful enough. If we can muster up enough faith Jesus will do great and mighty things in us and through us.

It does take a willing heart and faithful effort to serve Jesus. It takes effort because Jesus wants us to be co-laborers with Him. It takes a willing heart because the Lord gave us free will. We can ignore God’s voice when He calls to us or answer Him in faith!

Ministry is going where God sends us so He can minister through us. God does the work. He can do what He wants with us or without us. God wants us to be faithful to trust Him with our lives. Jesus wants us to live by faith and not by sight.

It is not our faith that saved us. It was the object of our faith who raised us from spiritual death to newness of life. Faithfulness in itself is not what God requires. It is faith in Jesus Christ that God requires. Faithfulness to the high calling God placed on our lives pleases Him.

None of us will ever be completely faithful to Jesus. Our God is a consuming fire. He is in the process of refining us so we can serve Him faithfully!

The Lord told me I would have to pass through fire. I would have to be refined by the trials He brings into my life. The Lord continues to shake me free from things that keep me from completely surrendering my life to Him.

The Lord’s call is echoing through my heart today. The weight of sin is wrapped around my feet like a prisoner’s ball and chain. I can move forward in faith or stay stuck where I am. You have the same choice!

Each of us must pass through the Refiner’s fire. We must allow God to shake us free from things that hinder us. Passing through the refiner’s fire is not an event. It is a process. We must respond to God’s voice by surrendering to the process!

Jesus does not shake us free from things that separate us from His will with one quick jolt. He causes the false foundations of self reliance and materialism to crumble beneath our feet when we build our lives upon them!

You can serve Jesus by allowing Him to live His life through you today. You can serve Jesus by surrendering your will to His today. You can serve Jesus by listening for His still small voice and obeying His righteous commands today!

Let Jesus shake loose and burn up anything that keeps you from serving Him today!

Jesus can use you to shake the foundations of the prison and set people free!

Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out that very hour. Acts 16:16-18 NKJV

The slave girl was speaking the truth. She was possessed by an evil spirit. The evil spirit was drawing people away from Christ!

This attack came as God’s servants went to prayer. The enemy of our souls attacks when we step out in faith. Satan seeks to distract us. He wants us to focus our attention on things other than Jesus.

The devil perverts the truth. He uses it against us. No one can serve two masters. This girl was speaking the truth about Paul and his companions while practicing witchcraft. When people claim to speak for God we must consider how they live.

The girl followed the disciples for several days before they cast the demon out of her. It is important for us to wait on the Lord before stepping out in faith. The bible tells us Paul was greatly annoyed by this girl. Paul was not fearful. The Lord was with Him!

Paul and Silas were put in jail. The owners of the slave girl were angry at the loss of income when the demon was cast out of her. While Paul and Silas were in jail they shared the gospel with the jailer. His entire household was saved.

God uses Satan’s attacks for His glory and our salvation!

Satan is a real being. He takes people captive to do his will. There really are demons who seek to destroy God’s people and bring destruction to our world.

We have nothing to fear from the devil or his demons when we live according to God’s will. We have nothing to fear from anyone or anything when we step out in faith to serve Jesus!

Jesus wants us to fear Him and Him alone. He wants us to know His power and authority are unequaled in all of creation.

God wants you share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the people in your life. Jesus wants you to walk in great boldness because He is with you everywhere you go!

Jesus can use you to shake the foundations of the prison and set people free!
